...Lewis Burwell Puller was born on June 26, 1898 in West Point, Virginia. His parents were Martha and Matthew Puller. Matthew Puller was a grocer who unfortunately passed away while Lewis was at the age of 10. Young Lewis grew up listening to old veterans tales of the American Civil War.
