When creating your own website the first step that should be taken is getting a domain name. A domain name is what the website would be named. For example “shevonnemassicott.com” is a domain name. Your domain name should be your website name. Naming your site the same as the domain name is imperative. It is important because when someone thinks of a person website they’ll think of it by name. What if a client cannot get the domain name of their choice? It really depends on how committed the customer is to that particular name. If it is an existing brand name that their known for, getting rid of that name is the last thing they might want to do. Check up the "whois" information for the domain, and contact that person listed to see if they're willing to sell it. You probably should be aware that they are likely to want to charge a higher fee than you'll normally get when buying new domains. To get a domain name, there is an annual fee to a registrar for the right to use that name. Getting a name does not get you a website, it's just a name. It's sort of like registering a business name in the brick-and-mortar world; having that business name does not mean that you also have the shop premises to go with the name. A web host is basically a company that has many computers connected to the Internet. Placing web pages on a computer causes everyone in the world to connect to it and view. You will need to sign up for an account with a web host so that website has a home. Most free web hosts impose advertising on a website. This is done to cover the costs of providing a site the free web space and associated services.
