College Degrees
Question: Will receiving a college degree improve your career opportunities?

In my own personal opinion, the answer to the above question is yes, you can improve many opportunities especially your career choice if you have a college degree. According to "The Benefits of a College Degree" (2014-2016), “While high school graduates can look forward to entry-level positions in non-skilled positions, graduates with a four-year bachelor’s degree will qualify for a much greater range of higher paying entry- and upper-level career positions”(). Studies show that not only do graduates enhance their job opportunities but also satiability for themselves, higher earnings and great benefits for their families.
Using critical thinking to answer this question was very useful. I looked at both positions of the answer I gave, as in looking at it without a degree and with one. Critical thinking taught me to look at every option and not just one. When I looked for the answers online it also gave me many other outside perspectives on this topic. But thinking critically helped me to believe in my own answer and be confident with it.
I believe I will continue to keep trying to use critical thinking as much as I can in my everyday life. This class taught me to not just pick an answer but to think before picking and see from others point of view. I will try to continue this great knowledge I was taught through my college courses, future career and life.

Never say never because dreams are always worth chasing for. In the other hand Linda Lee in “The Case Against College” she objects a strong belief towards a college degree. She argues that a college degree or higher education isn’t right for everyone and that there are other possibilities to be successful in life. Students should strongly agree with Porter’s position. Even though there are different viewpoints about college most of them have to do with why you should go to college. But why so much talk? Well, the “talk” is about if college is worth the financial debt that is ball and chained to it, or even the experience that one might go for, and while college does cost a lot and may not be for everyone, the benefits of college outweigh the concerns because college opens up more opportunities. Coming from a college prep school, I know that people are constantly being compared to each other and that all falls under the category of how much effort you put into becoming successful....

College Degree Benefits

...America’s working population holds a college degree? In my eyes that is just a shame! All Americans, working or not working, should all at least have their bachelors on their wall of achievements. Students should attend to a minimum four years at any college institution. Even if one chooses not to proceed in their education after these four years are through, a bachelors degree on job applications will look extraordinary; a bachelors degree can help you get a better job with better pay, can make your life easier, can help with paying for bills and other personal expenses. Having a college degree can give you an advantage over those who do not. If you were to think about it, the longer you stay in school, the better you look academically whether it be to you peers, future bosses or maybe even future employees. If you have a doctorate degree, a master’s degree, and, of course, a bachelor’s degree, the chances are you will find a better paying job. Also one with a college degree is more fit for a higher salary and a better living. If, for example, one was to apply for a job and did not have a college education and another well-educated person with a master’s degree wants the same job, the person with the degree will most likely get the job. Students who gain a college education gain a variety of other benefits, including a better quality of life.
