The Old World gave the New World foodstuff like wheat, sugar, rice, and coffee beans changing the diets of the population by increasing the labor of workers because the food made them more energized. The Columbian Exchange established a trade network between Europe and the New World. This trade route brought on both positive and negative effects to the New World and greatly altered the region and its people. The Europeans traveled into the Indians area not knowing what to expect. The travelers soon learned the ways and technics of hunter-gatherers. Due to this, the native indians fell ill with diseases such as smallpox and measles in Document 7 and syphilis shown in Document 5. The diseases began to transfer between the Indian territory and the population began to decrease rapidly shown in Document 7. During this, the European explores forced Indians into labor, making them do the work for the explorers, described in Document 1. The natives also developed diseases due to being forced into the labor field. Quickly, the population of natives depleted leaving only a few left because the Indians could not resist to the
