Lao Tzu once said, “I have three precious things which I hold fast and prize. The first is gentleness; the second is frugality; the third is humility, which keeps me from putting myself before others. The following ideas are essential to my definition. Leaders must be gentle, be frugal, and be humble. These qualities can integrate into boldness, liberality, and reflection of others.
Gentleness. Without gentleness a leader is reckless of the follower’s emotions. In order for the leader to implement positive change, the leader must be able to understand people’s need and desires.
