Jack Lund is almost 16, with thick brown hair and blue eyes, and as he ages, he is bald, with bushy white eyebrows and a scar on his jaw. All through his life, he loves Andie and his mother, and he hates the thought of Andie and Scud being together. Jack is motivated by the hope of saving his mom. Jack is similar to Scud because they are both in love with Andie and both go to war. They are different because Scud is very temperamental and a troublemaker, while Jack is not either, and Scud eventually married Andie. If Jack was not in the story, Mr. Boggs would be the only time traveller. Also, Jack’s mom might not have died. Jack can be tied to Gene, from A Separate Peace, because they both are more reserved and do not realize what they are missing
