The stories that were mentioned before, “Woman Hollering Creek” and “Girl” belong to two different authors that use their own variety of the English language: in the case of Sandra Cisneros, she speaks Chicano English; as for Jamaica Kincaid, Caribbean English. Even though these authors write in Standard English, their varieties have a big influence on their texts with regard to the use of elements that just belong to their cultures and make them unique and recognizable for the reader.
