Conflict is one piece of the human experience that never appears to go away totally as time has gone on. There is constantly some kind of conflict occurrence consistently. From little family disagreements of not taking out the trash or leaving filthy dishes in the sink to extensive wars between nations, strife is something that is by all accounts digging in for the long haul. Regardless of how advanced, developed or illuminated we think society is, struggle still remains a piece of cutting edge life. This makes strife determination and peacemaking critical abilities to have set up. Without having an approach to put a conclusion to conflict in a way that serves to relieve all gatherings included, the world would be in complete and utter confusion in light of the fact that it can be anything but difficult to not concur on specific things. This is particularly valid for hot catch issues, for example, human rights, birth control, weapon control, fairness between the sexes, and disable people rights can consist of conflict. The discussing’s in this paper will cover conflict with law enforcement and conflict in general.
According to Myers (2010), “Recall that conflict is a perceived incompatibility of actions or goals. Many conflicts contain but a small core of truly incompatible goals; the bigger problem is the misperceptions of the other’s motives and goals” (p. 493). The primary concern that needs to happen when managing conflict and peacemaking is helping every side to have an understanding. The tradeoff can be established where every individual has an understanding of what part they may have played in the conflict. To resolve the issue each side must agree with something from the other individual.
It is basic to practice most extreme bravery keeping in mind the end goal to determine clashes at school or work. While it is much less demanding and more secure to disregard the vital conflict and play quiet, uncertain clash will dependably heighten. One thing with uncertain conflict is that it never vanishes; it will just stew beneath the surface. Think about the similarity of water that is practically coming to bubble, it burbles up in the pot gradually till it achieves the boiling point and conflict will show on the surface. This is precisely how uncertain conflicts carry on in in society. At a certain point the conflict may look and appear to be quiet, if not properly resolved the conflict can still bubble up. Uncertain conflicts never goes away and it can rapidly come about into a full bubble at any given times just like boiling water.

An operational structure is perfect for team exercises yet disagreements can occur among associations which can make the task slightly difficult. These can possibly result in conflict inside of a gathering. Auxiliary issues, for example, the extent of gathering, level of support and rewards is a couple elements in basic issues pertaining conflict. In the event that conflict can't be resolve inside, of gathering, then intervention procedure should be enacted. Preceding intervention procedure, a mediator should hear out both sides in a mediation session. The mediator will be the professor or someone who has a neutral claim in the dispute. The mediator could gather information from both sides and generate a sensible solution for the issue. This is important whenever trying to solve a conflict within an organization or team.
An important part of conflict resolution and peacemaking is having the ability to discuss the issues of the disagreement or debate . Having strong communication skills is important for someone to have when getting involved with a conflict. Communication is going to be the key in getting both sides of the conflict to come together to try to resolve the issue that is at the root of what they are fighting over. An open mind is also important to have when dealing with type of issue. Many times we let our own personal feelings come into play, but in order to be effective with conflict resolution and peacemaking that has to be taken out of the equation to get a fair resolution.
The article, “Peacekeepers Turned Peacemakers: Police as Mediators” by Meyer, Paul and Grant discusses how police officers are in a position where they are able to provide conflict resolution as part of their job, but in some cases, they do not see it that way. They may feel that they are there only in the capacity to arrest the wrongdoer, that they do not have the authority to mettle in people’s lives unless a crime has been committed or that they are not social workers. The truth is that they are in a position where they can do well during their day if they feel that they are able to.
Conflicts will continue to happen as our lives go on. It’s very much important to look at yourself and make the proper evaluations. Many conflicts can come blindsided when not exacted to most. Any conflict can occur unexpectedly and be difficult to resolve. It can result in major issues that can affect someone's livelihood and also family. With us being Americans living in the United States where conflict is always on the rise with other countries. We should pay close attention to how they are resolved and use that in our personal lives. Even with everything we see on the news with altercations amongst civilians and police officers. Even with wars our country has resolved, there still may not be resolution with the problem that occurred with the other country. However there may be somewhat of an understanding between the two countries but problems still may exist. More of a current issue that resulted in much conflict, is the Ferguson shooting. That conflict resulted in more conflict after the police officer wasn't charged with the shooting of Michael Brown. With so much going on in the world today we as people need to look in the mirror and evaluate

The article mentions that they can feel the constraints of having a tight budget and personnel cuts which has an impact on in the way that they approach a situation where they could act in a role providing conflict resolution. “Hostage situations, for example, show the skill police mediators use in defusing potentially volatile situations, as do disturbances in which the police are outnumbered or where there is a heavy media presence” (Meyer et al., 2009, p. 334). A dangerous situation that many police officers face is domestic violence. Communication, in this event, can be crucial because they are walking into a situation where they are unfamiliar with the location and the individuals involved. Families and people with close ties can be more emotional and harder to deal with in this type of situation.

In conclusion, it takes a special type of person to be able to put their own personal feelings about an issue aside and be able to help with conflict resolution and peacemaking. Conflict is a part of life and will continue to be so. Everyone cannot be happy all of the time, and things will come between people, groups and nations that cause friction and conflict. Knowing that the conflict can come to resolution is important. Being able to make peace over a friend stealing a boyfriend or country taking land may not be easy, but with having communication skills, empathy and an open mind it is possible to be done. Many times in my life I have been challenged with conflict. In some of them situations I have made poor choices that affected me, and others. The most important thing is that I learn from the situation and grown from it.
