Cory’s…show more content… The story of a college basketball star that played the position of guard at the
University of Gettysburg egger to play the game that spontaneously has a stroke his freshmen
year while in the weight room with is best childhood friend Brandon. Near death but never
graphic the movie shows Cory’s near death experience later in the movie he is in the hospital
convulsing and suffering from traumatic seizers, this may be disturbing to younger viewers. Cory
was in a coma for a week or two, the stroke was caused by bleeding in his brain that was going to
require surgery, and the movie does not include this. Cory’s recovery took the remainder of his
freshman year and until fall the following year. He went through vigorous physical therapy with
his mother, Tina whose profession was in physical therapy helped him along with the whole
process. Cory is placed in the hospital under medical care during some of his recovery for a
month. Cory has a girlfriend named ally who stays by his side during some of the recovery but
towards the end of his junior year of college she decides that she can’t handle the stress of having
a handicapped boyfriend and this crushes Cory but eventually he understands. A couple…show more content… The girls name was jess and later on she becomes Cory’s new
girlfriend and number one supporter. One day Cory and his mother go on a drive and as they are
going along Cory starts to get this twitch, not knowing what was going on Cory pulled over and
began to have a seizer it turned out that the it wasn’t uncommon with the surgery he had gotten
for this to happen so throughout the movie Cory will have 2 or 3 random seizers. Cory spends his
whole junior and senior year trying to work hard enough to play for the basketball team again
and is determined to never give up on what he wants. Cory has a break with reality and realizes
that he will never be the same Cory he used to be but he can be a better more improved version
of himself. Cory will be the water boy for his basketball team until his senior season where he
will sit the bench until the very last game of the season and the coach puts Cory in when they are
ahead by a couple point. The opposing team will purposely foul Cory and he will go to the line
when he shoots the ball the first time he misses and the second time he makes a clean shot.
