Dan Snaith’s Caribou project has been doing plenty of touring on the heels of 2014′s Our Love - just this past weekend, his live band performed a searing set at Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago. “Mars”, a cut from the excellent Our Love, gets a carefully created rework from Italy’s Manfredi Romano, a.k.a. DJ Tennis. The rework is far removed from original track’s tropical sound - its flutes and tribal drums are replaced with filtered beats and nocturnal, skittering synths. Romano is clinical: under his supervision, the song is constantly metamorphosing into something else.
