here are thousands of different jobs around the country that are currently being worked by teenagers and adults alike. These jobs range vastly from typical grocery jobs to hard labor summer jobs. Two distinct jobs that are massively different are working at Fareway, and working for a detasseling company. While one is an easygoing all year job, the other is a hard labored, summer only job. The differences between Fareway and detasseling are the hours available, the management, and the type of labor required. Scheduling hours while working at fareway is a very easygoing experience. There are always plenty of workers that are available, so workers can take off when needed. The shift lengths can range from anywhere between 2 hours to 10 hours at a time. The store is open from 8am to 9pm at night and has shifts starting from 5am to 11pm. Detasseling on the other hand, has very strict and set work periods. It only lasts about a month during the summertime so working as much as possible in a short time period is critical. Every employee works at the same time starting from 5am to anywhere between 12-1pm. They are in charge of the store when the head store manager leaves and they are responsible for closing the store. For detasseling, there are only 2 head managers who teach the younger children and direct the group where to go.
