...Guiv Ardalan Reflective Essay Business Sustainability in a new economy Mr. Plumley September 15, 2013 Entrepreneurship is defined as “someone who organizes a business venture and assumes the risk for it”. This definition truly explains why I could never be a successful entrepreneur. I consider myself as very meticulous and disciplinarian. I believe detail is the first step to success and that things should be done the right way…my way. Steve Jobs, former CEO and founder of Apple, was somewhat similar to me; things needed to be his way and detailed mattered. Mark Zuckerberg, founder and CEO of Facebook, is also excessively detailed which makes him seem sometimes arrogant. But these successful entrepreneurs have the most important quality that I do not possess; the ability to be comfortable with risk. I am someone who cannot take big risks. I am meticulous because I want to avoid any risk possible. Being a control freaks makes me escape any type of risk. The feeling of vulnerability and fear does not appeal to me. The gains of the risk do not exceed the pain high risk inflicts to me. The successful entrepreneurs I listed are amazing human beings who need to control everything and can even control risk. This does not mean entrepreneurs need to be meticulous or disciplinarian, entrepreneurs need much more, they need incredible creative minds, knowledge and especially passion. If I ever would start a new company, I believe the only way I could be successful is for my passion...

...Causes and Effects of the Shortening of Attention Span Among the Public by Clara Long before, when there wasn’t technology and the act of getting orders so quickly, people could pay attention on one activity for a long time. Every day, there are new updates in technology and we are living in a society where if on dilemma occurs in one part of the world, the opposite side of the Earth will also get to know in less than a minute. These days, Koreans expect everything faster, like they want their delivery in less than two days and they get so frustrated if the WiFi doesn’t work or is slow. That’s why Korea have the fastest and best WiFi in the World. Consequently, people these days have a hard time focusing on a task. The attention span of people are getting shorter because of the new world’s technology and others causes. Moreover, there are a lot of negative effects to the shortening attention span of people in the society of 2014. Multitasking is called a skill, but it can damage your attention span and your ability to put effort into a task. People multitasking by reading and texting at the same time, or any other combination possible. For example they could be texting, reading, and writing an essay. ...Toyota is recalling a total of 778,000 RAV4 and Lexus HS 250h models sold in the United States to fix a problem in the rear suspension that it says arises when the vehicles are serviced. The recall involves 760,000 RAV4s from the 2006 to early 2011 model years and 18,000 Lexus HS 250hs from the 2010 model year. The recall, announced on Wednesday, follows the investigation begun in June by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration into possible suspension failures involving some 460,000 RAV4s from 2006-8. In its news release, Toyota said its own investigation had determined “that if the nuts on the rear suspension arm are not tightened following the proper procedure and torque specification during a rear-wheel alignment service, excessive play may occur at the threaded portion of the arm, followed by rust formation.” If rust builds up, “threads may wear, causing the arm to separate, which could result in loss of vehicle control,” Toyota wrote in a report to the safety agency on Wednesday. “In the United States, there are nine crashes and three minor injuries alleged to be related to this condition,” a Toyota spokesman, Brian R. Lyons, said in an e-mail. Toyota concluded in July that the issue was caused by the “improper tightening of the lock nut during adjustment of a rear-wheel alignment in the field,” according to its letter to the agency. Toyota added that it decided to announce a recall “to ensure proper tightening of the lock nuts.” The automaker...
