Project Details

Undergraduate project title: ‘Analysis on Mechanical Properties of Rice Straw Fiber Glass Reinforced Thermoplastic Composites with MAPP’. Guide: Sri K.CH. Kishor Kumar Asst.Professor, M.Tech.

The natural fibre reinforced composites have the advantage of being light weight, renewable biodegradable, low cost and eco friendly compared to the synthetic fibres like grass, graphite etc., Hence there is every need to investigate protencially of natural fibers and its composites which can be used in highly demanding situation. This project describes the procedure for extraction of rice straw fiber and its Incorporation in poly propylene resin matraix hybridized with glass for preparing composite (RGPP) specimens at various weight percentage (0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%) . Finally the testing was described and the mechanical properties of the composites i.e., tensile, velding and impact strength where reported.
