Kurt Vonnegut Jr tried to persuade a school board that his book was not inappropriate, and that it was actually very meaningful in his letter titled,”You Have Insulted Me” by using rhetorical devices, ethos, pathos, and logos. Vonnegut uses ethos in his letter when saying,”I am so much trusted with young people and by young people that I have served on the faculties of the University of Iowa, Harvard, and the City College of New York” (Vonnegut 4).
