Title: SECRETS IN THE SNOW
Topic: Dyatlov Pass Incident
It was stated by International Business Time’s website that these hikers were very, very experienced and they knew it was going to be difficult to mount this Russian beast, but yet they also knew they would be the firsts to accomplish it. They had no idea what was awaiting them. As the Moscow news states that there were in fact 10 crew members, eight which were men and 2 women. They hiked the mountain of death on January 23, 1959. Their expedition was led by a senior at the institute’s radio technology faculty: Igor Dyatlov. His group contained experienced hikers who were his best companions. Twenty two year old Yuri Yudin was part of this expedition but fortunate for him he became very ill and had no choice but to be left in a nearby city while his friends went marching towards their mysterious death. It took officials and rescue parties more than two months to find the hikers. On February 27 the hunt was on to find these poor and unfortunate souls. By May they found the last four bodied that were missing. According to the Moscow News the hikers made their last camp on the first of February on the side of Kholat Syakhyl which mean “Mountain of the Dead” when translated. According to The Telegraph a near-by student who was camping along said he saw “fireballs” over the mountain’s sky. It appeared as if they “fireballs” were being shot from the mountain. What ultimately made this story a mystery was the way these bodies were found along with the conditions of their camp site.
According to the Moscow News the search began on February 27. As told by The Telegraph rescue parties first came across their wrecked campsite. Their tents were slashed from the inside. Half of the tent was consumed by the snow. What was more baffling was what was left in the tent. Keep in mind these hikers were very experienced and have done this millions of times. Also keep in mind the temperature were most likely around negative 30°C. They found the camper’s belonging such as skies, food, boots, warm clothing. As if the campers left in such a terrified hurry they did not bother to put their clothes. In those conditions that meant life or death. The first two bodied that were discovered were two males and they were only wearing what was considered their under clothes. These two men were both barefoot and were found close to the edge of a forest and the remain of what appeared to be a fire. Three more bodies were found, one of which was the leader Dytlov and another male and female. These three were found closer to the tent. Were they returning to the tent and just ran out of time? Autopsies stated cause of death was hypothermia. Only two months later they found four more member. They were found in a forest gulch. They were not far from the first two bodies. But it appeared that they had traumatic pressure otherwise known as crush injuries. Investigators found no external injuries and according to International Business Times their skin was not broken and had not outer injures. According the Moscow News the injuries that some of these hikers had could only be caused by some sort of explosion. One camper had a crushed skull. What exactly caused their crushed injuries without leaving a mark on their body? Another odd scary fact by the Moscow News was a female from the expedition was found with no tongue and no eyes. Her tongue was completely ripped out of her. The Telegraph also stated that on some bodies a small dose of radiation was found on them and their clothes. International Business Times stated that rescuers noticed their skin tan and their hair was a lighter shade then it was originally. By now all nine bodies have been found in strange conditions what exactly caused these nine hikers to ditch in such a hurry that they couldn’t even put on some shoes? What killed some of these hikers?
A question that was repeatedly asked for more than a half a century: Was the Russian government involved? According to the Moscow News their expedition took place around the Cold War. Many scientists are coming to the conclusion that the hikers died due to a bomb. Russia was testing bombs and building nuclear power at that time. They heard a bomb out in the wilderness what they thought was an avalanche and they scurried out of their tents. Ties up the loose end for the radiation found on them. It does have blank holes missing such as why were they mostly naked, what caused the crush injuries, what destroyed their tent? Questions that the Russian enforcement as well as scientists can’t answer Another possibility was infrasound. According to the International Business Times a low–frequency sound is beneath the boundary for man hearing. In 1960 a Russian French scientist, initiated the research into the miniature air vibrations. This caused ear aches, sickness. It would give its victims the feeling of fear, confusion and it would cause them to panic. Did this cause the Dytlov crew to go insane causing them to fear and act without thinking? Infrasound could be answer to why they acted recklessly and ran from their camp site with no clothes. But yet this theory also has loose ends. Why the radiation? Why the fractured skull? Why no clothes? Why didn’t they stay together? The Telegraph cocluded that maybe it was these “fireballs” that were seen around the area that night. A strange unknown, strong energy could have killed them. Another theory provided by The Telegraph was that maybe local tribesmen or members of the Russian Military killed them for trespassing.
Igor Dytlov and his crew died in a very unusual way. Is it meant for this mystery to remain a mystery? Will anyone find out what really happened to those poor hikers? Is the Russian Government hiding the truth? Or is the truth buried under the snow?

Red Light Cameras

...Red Light Cameras Proposition Paper Violeta Gonzalez Introduction Red light cameras have been created to decrease car accidents and increase the safety at intersections. The red light cameras have increased so it can be easy to enforce citizens to not pass a red light at intersections. More than 400 cities in United States have enforced red light cameras. But yet there have been disadvantages and advantages toward red light cameras. Red Light Cameras A red light camera is a camera that photographs a vehicle when it runs a red light an intersection. It has been in use since 1986. It becomes active once the signal light turns red. Photographs are taken from front and rear of the vehicle. Once the camera captures a photograph of a person passing a red light a citation is sent home through mail to the registered owner of the vehicle. Disadvantages of having red light cameras are increasing rear-end accidents, ticket recipients are not notified, driver not being identified and invasion of privacy. Rear-accidents are being increased because it makes the driver in the front hit the brake once the light is yellow and the car behind it has not enough time to brake. Most drivers are scared to run a red light and don’t want to get a ticket. Another reason is that recipients aren’t being notified as soon as possible. The government sends the ticket as first class. They assume that the driver gets it. The case may be that the driver never got it or the government assumes that...

...always dreamed of when I grew up, I would be a CEO to a major company. I would visualize myself wearing expensive suits to work and possessing the ability to delegate duties to others. After high school, I started working toward my goals of earning a degree. I ended up pursuing my education in the medical field. I successfully earned two bachelor degrees one in Arts whereas the other in Science.  Congratulations! Still I was yearning for more. I knew I wanted a master’s degree in Business but I just did not know when or where in which I was going to do it. My plan was to pass my medical boards, which was the Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination go straight into the Masters’ program. Additionally, I looked into what the requirements were for a Masters’ Degree, the traditional schools required passing the GRE. I was contemplating whether or not I wanted to start studying again to prepare to pass the GRE a colleague who was a physician assistant friend told me about University of Phoenix and he explained to me that the school does not require GRE scores. I was intrigued yet hesitated at the same time because I did not know much about the University. Months had passed and my friend called me one day to inform me that he was graduating already from University of Phoenix with his MBA Degree in Health Care Administration. I couldn’t believe how fast the time had passed. During our conversation he stated how pleased he was of the program and he also reassured me that...

...It was nine o’clock on a saturday morning. The weather was cold, wet and muddy on MHMFC oval. The bad weather did not matter to Eden, or to his fellow team mates. All that mattered, was to come out victorious, and escape defeat to the leaders of the league table. Luiz, the centre back and tremendous captain of the team, was pale, his bushy hair was flat, and his nerves were shaking all over the place. This win, would be a great success of the season, it would guarantee fifteen boys a spot in the finals. They deserved to be there, the team had been strong through sickness and injury, through thick and thin, through ups and downs. Eden saw the uncertainty in his teams face, their eyes were focussed on the floor rather than the pitch. The coach was running late as usual, and it seemed that this time Luiz was not getting up to make the before game motivational speech, instead he sat there scratching his boofy head. On the other side of the field, moving in sequence behind a young man with a whistle and a ball, were the opponents. Each of them were individually bigger than Luiz and his team. They were fit, obedient and consistent, the perfect team. Eden took his glance away from the other boys, to see a black SUV pull up in the car park, late as usual. The MHMFC under fifteens coach came rushing from the car, his adidas tracksuit and nike cap made it obvious to the boys that their coach had finally arrived. The team murmured amongst each other, none of them were ready. Eden broke the...

Persuasive Speech: Why I Won T Drive

...months but total I’ve been driving for about a year now which is just enough time to realize what made whoever I was with, flip out, while driving on the freeway. And this definitely isn’t something new but you don’t really understand it until you are the one actually driving a car. So for the kids that don’t drive yet sorry you probably won’t get the full effect of this speech, but to the ones who do I’m about to connect with you all on a new level, the one of terrible drivers. One of the things that bugs me the most is when they pass you and there is no advantage to them, none, at all. There's a lot of people out there who will be very rude or dangerous about passing you, we all know about that, but in most cases they're gaining something, at least according to their priorities. They're passing you to get into an open lane where they can go ahead and keep driving 200 mph, so that they can die faster. If there's a slow car, of course people want to pass, I can understand that. But say you're going slowly only because the car in front of you is...

A Matter of Life and Death

...As a school leader there are many issues that will be faced during one’s career. Fights, staff oversight, disciplinary issues…but who thinks about the death of a student. Many administrators probably have considered or experienced this occurrence, but what about that student’s online information after his or her death? This can easily be a touchy subject and due to the fact that it is still a relatively new concept to consider there is not a wealth of clear guidelines and procedures outlining how to handle this occurrence. I have not personally had to deal with this issue in relation to a student, but I have had former classmates and a close friend pass away at young ages. Around two years ago a close friend of mine was killed in a car accident. His Facebook page became a memorial of sorts where friends and family could leave messages and posts in honor of the deceased. The instances of former classmates’ passing was also linked to the social network of Facebook. When someone passes immediately it becomes either the status or topic of discussion in people’s news feed stating for anyone who has access through being a friend to see that someone has passed away. It becomes a topic of discussion amongst those within the same social network, and the individual’s page becomes inundated with messages of grief and disbelief. People will often try to verify the passing of the individual, or as the article discussed, family members will go online to grasp at what memories they may...

If she's ever to return home to District 12, Katniss must make impossible choices in the arena in order to survive and come out on top At first I thought that this movie would pass and after looking deeper into it it actually passed the test towards the very beginning of the movie. The movie has many women involved, and they also all talk to each other. One example that passes is when Katniss talked to her mother about staying strong and not to give up on her younger sister before she left. Katniss also talks to her younger sister primrose just before she is taken away to the games about staying strong and not to worry about her. ...In the previous code sample, notice that two constants were used in place of the database connection string and database path in the Microsoft® ActiveX® Data Object (ADO) Recordset object's Open method. This sample highlights another important consideration when you are writing reusable code: Avoid hard-coding values used in your code. If a string or number is used repeatedly, define a module-level constant and use the constant in your code. If you must use a string or number in more than one module, declare the constant by using the Public keyword. If you have a string or number that is local to a procedure, consider rewriting the procedure to pass the value as an argument or by using a local constant. Try to minimize the number of arguments in a procedure and pass in only what is actually required by the procedure. In addition, make sure your procedures use all the arguments passed to them. Group related procedures and the constants they use together in the same module, and where appropriate, consider grouping related procedures together in a class module with a clearly defined interface. Keep procedures in standard modules and not in modules behind forms or documents. The code in form modules should be only that code that is tied directly to the form itself and the code required for calling general procedures stored in standard modules. Communicate between procedures by passing data as arguments to the procedures. Persist data by writing it to disk or to the Windows registry...
