Spencer Feed and Supply is a small company located in Spencer, Ohio. They sell livestock feed, animal health care items, tack, and gardening supplies. Their current website is very damaging to their business. The website is very hard to read, and it does not have enough information on the products and services offered through their company. Another negative aspect of their site is the ability to order items online. I believe if the company can set up an e-commerce solution on their site they can increase their companies’ profits. After researching multiple companies that allow you to setup an e-commerce solution, the company I believe is best suited for Spencer Feed and Supply is Plug’nPlay. Plug’n Play’s website is located at http://www.plugnpay.com. They offer many e-commerce solutions for merchants, resellers, and partner solutions. The one best suited for Feed Store is the merchant solution. The merchant solution is hosted by Plug’n Play, this means the information is stored on their servers. Having information on their servers can save Spencer Feed and Supply money by not having to purchase and maintain their own servers. Once Feed Store purchases from Plug’n Play, the company will give them the HTML code to input into their website and that will allow for transactions to take place. This code is easily integrated into any HTML code on their existing website. Once the code is embedded the shopping cart and order buttons will appear on Feed Store’s site.
Now that the order buttons have appeared on the site, the next step is for Feed Store to setup the website to allow for transactions to take place by major credit card or electronic check.
