Introduction

My main focus will be on the elements that contribute to effective classroom management and include learner motivation, communication between learners and educators, interpersonal relations between learners and educators and how to ensure discipline in the classroom.

Question 1
Learner motivation Motivation means being able to focus on a task, starting the task and completing it successfully. There are two types of motivation. The first type, extrinsic motivation, refers to being motivated by a specific and desirable outcome or tangible reward. The second, intrinsic motivation, refers to the inner desire to accomplish a task regardless of whether it brings immediate reward [Study Guide. 2006:36]. Most school systems mostly mainly on extrinsic motivation. However intrinsic motivation has shown to be more effecting and lasting. Although extrinsic motivation is also important most activities (in the classroom and in the world) are automatically structured to promote this type of motivation. What we strive to create is intrinsic motivation, the personal satisfaction of performing and completing tasks well. Intrinsic motivation is grounded in the learner’s belief in their own personal competence and the belief that they have control over the
