...Software for Human Service Organizations Disadvantaged Family Community Based Organization Brenda Scott BSHS/375 July 8, 2015 George De Rosa Software for Human Service Organizations Nonprofit organizations that provide services to disadvantaged families are community based service organizations that are meeting human needs, especially in the time of crisis. The clients that are served consist of families, individual men or women, children of all ages, various races, and sexual orientation, young and old. This type of organization will require sophisticated software with many integrated modules that can track clients across various organizations and care providers. Community based organizations involved in human service delivery activities need effective software with a centralized database to track client demographics, services received, client progress, and outcomes. Software should be easy to use and require minimal staff training to implement the use of the software. There are two software applications that are being compared and discussed that are used to track client services as they meet the needs of underprivileged population(s). ...Chapter 33. Professional Communication and Team Collaboration Michelle O’Daniel, Alan H. Rosenstein Background In today’s health care system, delivery processes involve numerous interfaces and patient handoffs among multiple health care practitioners with varying levels of educational and occupational training. During the course of a 4-day hospital stay, a patient may interact with 50 different employees, including physicians, nurses, technicians, and others. Effective clinical practice thus involves many instances where critical information must be accurately communicated. Team collaboration is essential. When health care professionals are not communicating effectively, patient safety is at risk for several reasons: lack of critical information, misinterpretation of information, unclear orders over the telephone, and overlooked changes in status.1 Lack of communication creates situations where medical errors can occur. These errors have the potential to cause severe injury or unexpected patient death. Medical errors, especially those caused by a failure to communicate, are a pervasive problem in today’s health care organizations. According to the Joint Commission (formerly the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, JCHAO), if medical errors appeared on the National Center for Health Statistic’s list of the top 10 causes of death in the United States, they would rank number 5—ahead of accidents, diabetes, and Alzheimer’s disease, as well as AIDS, breast...

...Family Services Threats: Competition: One of the leading despairing disadvantages healthcare providers may experience is the competitive market. Oftentimes, location or geographic proximity win over consumers than quality of care and affordability. Many times people settle for convenience despite serve provided. When clients not receiving adequate care the measure of stability is at-risk for mental health patients. This problem is the same when agencies does not conform to the needs of diversity and cultural competence. The inability to meet clients’ needs through empathy and collaboration will limit resources available to aide clients. Organization Operational Theory KMW Family Services operates under the Contingency theory. The approach is a multifaceted approach of program structuring. It allows room for constant change based economic, social, and clinical demands. Moreover, the agency is able to explore options for internal reconstruction due to the diverse needs of clients. ...IBM Global Business Services Human Capital Management Achieving success in a globally integrated world: Enabling an adaptable workforce 2 You’ve remodeled your supply chain. Optimized your IT infrastructure. Overhauled your financials. But you’re still not getting the results you expect. So what’s missing? Like many companies, you may be overlooking your most valuable asset: your people. While human capital is an organization’s single largest resource, many companies don’t utilize their workforce to its fullest — even when they’ve been successful in maximizing other strategic business areas — leaving a huge opportunity untapped. By looking to the workforce to improve enterprise adaptability, innovation and productivity, corporate leaders can differentiate their businesses and stay ahead of the competition. Yet, to achieve true differentiation, companies must develop a more responsive, flexible and resilient workforce by finding better ways to source talent, allocate resources across competing initiatives, measure performance and build vital capabilities and skills. This requires developing programs that focus on workforce performance, identifying and employing talent globally, working collaboratively to accelerate change, generating innovation and producing measurable business results — now and into the future. 3 Providing solutions based on solid research IBM’s Global Human Capital Study 2008, which reflects the insights of over 400 senior executives...

Who will report to who. The organizational chart. The lines of authority. All of these are aspects of personnel management and organization that falls within the prevue of the organizing function of management” (Organizing Function, n.d.).
