Many people felt that times were high, and that nationalism and sectionalism could only bolster the union, while others thought that it was sectionalism and nationalism that caused disunion. Some of the documents used in this essay support the claim that the period after 1812 was an era of good feelings. Other documents will oppose this claim with proof from their own perspectives. Document B discusses the wonders that the growth of nationalism has done for the Union. John Calhoun writes that before the war, the Republic was in a state of disunion. ...Presidents IAT twice. This IAT requires the ability to recognize photos of Barack Obama and another former president. The first test were photos of Thomas Jefferson and Barack Obama. It also included the choice words of good or bad. In this test my results said that I prefer Obama compared to Jefferson. I disagree completely disagree with the results. I do not feel Obama is a better president than Jefferson was. The second test was comparing Bill Clinton to Barack Obama. My results from this test suggest a slight automatic preference for Clinton compared to Obama. I chose to do the same test twice to see if the test holds any validity. It obviously isn’t accurate in its findings and feel at times I chose to click on the correct key. Had the findings been correct it would have shown I prefer both Jefferson and Clinton over Obama.
