In today’s day in age we would rather distract ourselves with celebrities and who’s having a baby or who is breaking up rather than focusing on real world issues at hand. Why don’t we do anything about sexual assault in Universities? We know it’s happening but we distract ourselves with celebrities like the Kardashians and who is having the next child. There has been many mass murdering’s all over the United States and most everyone knows it has something to do with gun laws, we know it needs to change, yet we do nothing about it. Another thing we distract ourselves with is that Trump is trying to start World War three with Korea, but we think that it will never happen, that Trump won’t let that happen so we stop giving it attention and distract …show more content…
We say that it’s the women’s fault for being too drunk or wearing that certain outfit, nobody thinks that it was the men’s fault for not being the right state of mind. People who try and fix this problem probably helped a little bit or they make it much worse for women on University campuses. In an article that Lee Gardner wrote he talks about the Clery Act “Barbara R. O’Connor, director of public safety and chief of the police at the university, says she believes that Mr. Ursin would have been caught eventually. But he was taken off the street within hours thanks to the federal campus-crime-reporting law known as the Clery Act, which requires that Connecticut—and colleges across the country—be prepared to notify students and faculty and staff members of emergencies and security threats.” Lee goes on by saying “That is just the kind of fundamental improvement advocates of the law had hoped would follow from its passage 25 years ago. Since then the Clery Act had made students safer—at least in some ways.” (Lee p.2) We think that is enough to deal with the issue at hand so we distract ourselves with which one of the Kardashians are pregnant and having another child or who has a Hollywood Scandal this week.
