1. What are the 2 or 3 most important ideas you want to convey about this topic before you finish the course? What do you want to leave us with? I wish to convey the idea that fatigue isn’t what It is sometimes though to be. According to my sources and my own person opinion, I wan to show others that fatigue is all in your head. If we were able to overcome the limitations that we put on ourselves by our mind, I believe that we would actually able to achieve physical fatigue. In conclusion, the first idea that I wish to stress is that fatigue in in our minds. The second one is that we need to learn how to overcome these limitations that are set by our minds to really achieve physical fatigue. 2. Similarly: What are you saying about this topic? What are you adding to the overall "discussion" of this topic? (A lot of writing guides say that writing a paper is like entering a disc ussion midway: Others have written about it before you; others will write about it after you. What are you saying that's new? What are you adding to the discussion?) Here is what I have to bring to the table: stand up real fast. Close your eyes. Stretch your arms straight out in front of your and twist as far as you can. Now open your eyes and look how far you were able to go. Close your eyes again and visualize yourself twisting even farther. Then do it. Hopefully if done correctly the second time, you were able to go way farther than you were able to go on your first attempt. This is an example of what I want to bring up in my second paper. What I mean by this is maybe fatigue is really just in our heads. If we learn to counter this, then we will defiantly be able to increase our performance. My question is how??? 3. What are some possible answers to your research question? Which sources correspond to which possible answers? At this point, I have no solid answer to this question. I have my ideas based off of what I have read but some of them are proven yet. I will enlighten you in my second paper so stay tuned! I’d give you a hint but my hands are starting to weaken as I’m typing this, maybe it’s because of homework… Surprise! 4. What did you find out since Paper #1 that's new and interesting? How do you want to use Fit and Well to support what you want to say? So far, I have learned that fatigue normally isn’t your muscles saying they can’t go on, but instead it is you mind that tells your body that it can’t (refer to the safety switch that Tim Noakes talked about in Paper Number 1). Fit and Well is a bit vague about this topic. The book mentions fatigue but doesn’t mention what really causes it other than tiredness.
