Beauty and its Consequence on Women
Many people believe that beauty makes life easier and it comes with its own perks. Beautiful people are assumed to be funnier, friendlier, and more social then average looking people. They receive more attention from their counterparts. More job positions are open to those with better looks and they’re able to earn more as well. This could all be nothing but stereotypes for both gender but when it comes to looks, men don’t usually worry about it. For women that are seeking an opportunity to work in a field that is considered more masculine, it could be considerably hard for them. To land a job position as a firefighter, construction worker or anything along those lines, women are expected to act and look more like men.
Attractive women are sometimes stereotyped as models, cheerleaders and trophy wives. They aren’t usually looked at as strong, hard working women. They’re wrongly perceived as less talented. For some the looks of a woman seems to distinguish her characteristics. If a women is attractive then does this mean she might also have traits that aren’t fit for a “man’s job?” Attractive women tended to be sorted into positions like receptionist or secretary. When women seek for male sex-type position the most average looking women often gets the job.
