Folsom Prison Museum Report

Some of my friends and I went to the Folsom Prison Museum, and explored, learned, and saw what life was like back then, and now, for prison goers. I went with Sam Clare, Kyleigh Lessa, and Madeline Cox (who tagged along for support, because she’s on the other team). Overall, the museum was very interesting, and everyone learned lots. Folsom Prison has been around for a long time, since the 1800’s to be exact. When we first got there, we went into the museum, and watched a video, about 20 minutes about its origin, interesting stories, and many little facts. After that, we left the video room, and explored the museum. It was a small museum, but for being so small, every little area was filled with something new, with great facts and information. Some of my favorites were the toothpick ferris wheel, all the silverware and trays they used to eat, all the weapons/harmful things the inmates made, and the contraptions they would use on the inmates to make sure they stayed in-line. These all had their own little area to learn about and see them, and it was very interesting and a great learning experience. Outside, there is also many places where you can take pictures with an old gate, tractor, tower, and replicas.
