During this past week of study. As the Diagnostic Imaging Manager, you will assist the Director of the Medical Imaging Department in all managing operations. The manager assures that all productivity meets the standards of daily activities, by ensuring that the correct number of Technologist are present for the number of procedures that are requested. Also part of your job entails that you ensure the department has the necessary equipment for daily operations. You will create the monthly schedule for employees, assists in Kronos documentation and Lawson documentation. You need to possess the ability to read, write and speak English, as well as possess an excellent verbal and written communications skills. Extensive knowledge and experience are required for this role. You must have an in-depth understanding of the principles, trends and a good foundation of the developments within the field of Diagnostic Imaging. Must have an understanding of the laws, regulations, accreditations standards and safety guidelines need for the operation of a Diagnostic Center. Some of the certifications and credentials required are; Licensed as a Radiology Technologist must obtain a Bachelor's of Science degree, have five or more years of experience in a hospital setting and two tears of previous supervisory experience. Plus have a Florida Board for Medical Imaging license and a specialty licensing in one or more areas including CT, MRI, Ultrasound, or Nuclear Medicine. At this level, I would be able to oversee the entire radiology department, including managing the budget, purchase new technology, be able to promote within the department. There is a large scope under the radiology profession, and a Radiographer is one of these career options. A Sonographer and Radiology technician fall within this category as well (Education-Portal 2012). On a daily basis, a Radiographer works with radiation in some form. This may include x-rays, MRI, and ultrasounds (Education-Portal 2012). Radiographers also have the task of assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients for many different types of conditions and diseases (Education-Portal 2012). Radiographers must produce and read images in detail for the part of the body being examined (NHS Careers 2002). The salary range for the typical Radiographer is $30,000-$55,000 (Radiographer Career Guide 2011). There are two types of Radiographers; diagnostic and therapy. Diagnostic Radiographers work with images to diagnose injury or disease.
