By Joseph J. Ellis. The first thing that captured me was that the Writer reminds those reading to not read the book with the expectations of British Empire would losing to the colonies over time, Ellis points out that the American Revolution and the creation of an independent state were not inevitable at all but looked upon as highly unlikely. Which is very important to remember throughout the entire book because it does add to the emotions to the book.
