In this novel Victor Frankenstein created a monster that he had grown to become afraid of. After the monster was created Victor left him, but when Frankenstein returned to his house the monster was gone. Victor Frankenstein becomes ill and his best friend Henry Clarval takes care of him. When Frankenstein becomes well again he goes home, but when he gets there he receives a letter that said that Elizabeth had got Scarlet Fever and Caroline Beafort took care of her, but as Elizabeth was getting better Caroline Beafort caught it and she died. After two years Frankenstein runs into the monster. The monster tells him everything that has happened in his life, but the monster wonted a female companion. Frankenstein said he was not going to do it. The monster tells him that if he didn’t do it he was going to kill others in his family. So Victor started to create the female, but he could not go thought with it. So he runs, but the monster eventually finds him and tell him that he was going to see him on his wedding night. Frankenstein is afraid to marry Elizabeth because the monster might kill her and he does. Frankenstein is so angry at this point that he wants to kill the monster, but the monster is so fast and so strong that he just plays with Frankenstein’s mind. In the Artic the monster also kills himself because he has no one to tease are mess with anymore. According to the web cite, “Victor doesn’t mistreat women, but he does portray an 1800s view of male superiority”(1). The monster, on the other hand, does not have the upbringing like Victor’s, therefore, his idea of the equalities of women is different. In the original novel, women were seen less as equal to men, but moved as objects for men to adore and care for. For a novel written by the daughter of an important feminist. Frankenstein is strikingly devoid of strong female characters. This story talked about women who were passive and suffered calmly and helped others. According to the web cite, “Caroline Beafort possessed a mind of a uncommon mould; and her courage rose to support her in her adversity”(1). She procured plain work, she plated straw; and by various means contrived to earn a pittance scarcely efficient to support life. She was not treated any kind of way when it came down to men. Several months passed and her father became ill. She gave all her time to take care of him. In ten months her father died in her arms, leaving her an orphan and a beggar. After her fathers

death she gave her hand in marriage to Mr. Frankenstein. She was always willing to do anything for her family, but later she died of an illness that she caught from taking care of Elizabeth. Justine was the third of four children. Her mother was a widow. This girl had always been the favorite to her father; but her mother could not endure her. Her mother treated her very badly. Frankenstein’s aunt wonted to go get Justine so she could live with her, because her mother mistreated her. Justine became apart of Frankenstein’s family. She learned the duties of a servant. When her mother got herself together she wonted Justine to go back and live with her. She sometimes begged Justine to forgive her, but most often accused her for the death of her brothers and sisters. Justine’s mother died during the cold weather. When Frankenstein returned to Genera he found out that Justine was a kind and settle girl. She was later a accused of killing William, but Frankenstein knew who did it. She would not say a word because of what the priest told her, so she was hung for the death of William even though she was innocent. These women did a lot for the people that they loved. Some of them sacrificed their life for others that they cared about. These women will be remembered for all that they did. These women are were so nice that they would do for others before they do for themselves. They never asked for anything in return. These women where good to everyone. They were always willing to help anyone in their family that needed help. Women like that are hard to find theses days, but there are some that are still out there.

...him/her self. In Frankenstein, Mary Shelly shows that when one abandons something, it will come back and take revenge on them. Shelly had an interesting way of showing this throughout the chapter; she played on characters emotions, killing their close ones. She created acts of violence that we see in our daily lives, driven by the anger from abandonment or neglect. An example of this is when Victor receives a letter from his father stating that his brother, William, has been murdered. So, Victor goes to Geneva where his family is located, but its too late and the gates are closed. He spends the night plodding around and comes across the spot where his brother was killed.
