Both the articles written by Matt Britland (2013) and Samuel G. Freedman (2007) discusses about the impacts of technology on education. In “New Class(room) War: Teacher vs. Technology”, Matt Britland argues that education should embrace technology because it is becoming more beneficial to the process. On the flip side, Samuel G. Freedman argued in his article, that technology is detrimental for students and has no educational value. Based on the style of writing, the targeted audience are educators and parents. Freedman’s article is more persuasive because he managed to infuse rhetorical appeals to convince his readers. His arguments are also better supported by more appropriate evidences. However, Britland’s article is less persuasive because it lacks sufficient evidence and is more biased towards the author’s perspective.
