...Introduction to ethics Shannon Jennings Colorado Technical University Patricia Morriss Dilemma The act of offering and receiving bribes is entrenched in the people’s day to day lives with a view of receiving a monetary favor for the service rendered. Business organizations face it rough when they want to start new branches or even when aspiring business people launch into the market. Government official who are charged with the duty and responsibility of offering the necessary business licenses usually use the very position to frustrate the process. They create unnecessary delays with a desire to receive a bribe so that they can expedite the process. Each organization is facing a dilemma whether to engage in the commonly accepted practice of bribery which is a direct act of corruption or not. Local people who want to start a company a given country usually have to get various licenses and approvals from various government departments as a requirement to start a business. Multinational companies desiring to acquire land permits and other licenses also have to contend with the same old vice where the public service workers expect to be bribes to perform their duties. Bribery raises an ethical question where the issues and always puts a person’s principles at the balance. The question of bribery being good or bad is interpreted differently depending on who is looking at the issues. ...An Indian mission to another frontier in space Today, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) will launch the first of seven satellites that will provide the country with an independent navigation satellite capability. A navigation satellite system uses a cluster of spacecraft that regularly transmit signals. Suitably equipped receivers can then use that data to work out their exact position. Satellite-based navigation has, over the years, become indispensable, with a multitude of both civilian and military uses. Vehicles, big and small, as well as aircraft and ships increasingly find their way using such navigation devices. People these days turn to map and location-based services on their mobile devices. World scene The best known and currently the most widely used navigation satellite system is the U.S. Global Positioning System (GPS), which became operational two decades ago. Russia too offers global coverage with its Global Navigation Satellite System (GLONASS). Europe is establishing its own global system, Galileo. Although the full constellation will be ready only by 2019, it plans to begin some services with a reduced number of satellites by the end of next year. Last December, China announced operational services from its BeiDou Navigation Satellite System over that country and surrounding areas. It intends to launch more satellites and expand the system for global coverage by 2020. Japan has already launched the first of three satellites for its regional...

...Immunodeficiency Virus, illegal drug use, alcohol use, motor vehicle injuries, and fire arm related incidents combined. There have been ten times more premature deaths due to tobacco use than casualties during all noted American wars in United States history (“Health Effects of Cigarette Smoking”, 2014, para.2). Use of tobacco products causes cancer of the nose, mouth, larynx, trachea, esophagus, throat, lungs, liver, stomach, pancreas, kidneys, bladder, cervix, bone marrow, blood, colon, and rectum (“Health Effects of Cigarette Smoking”, 2014, para.6). “Globally, it is estimated that cervical cancer is responsible for 2.7 million years of lost life, and at least 75 percent of head and neck cancers are caused by tobacco and alcohol use.” (Lamb, Dawson, Gagan, & Peddie, 2013, p. 25; National Cancer Institute at the National Institutes of Health, 2013, para. 11). These are only two frightening cancer statistics caused by tobacco from the previously stated list. It is imperative to understand the repercussions of using tobacco products so patients do not become another one of these statistics, but it is more important to explain the positive results of abstaining from those products to encourage greater chances of successful cessation of tobacco use. In this research the best practices related to patient education in patients who use some form of tobacco are established. Theoretical Framework The Health Belief Model (HBM) is a tool that can be used by educators and nurses in order to understand...

In this essay I will explore the issues of law, accountability and ethics raised by prescribing on behalf of others. The legal system of England and Wales has two branches of law; criminal and civil Criminal Law: Statues are acts of parliament which are presented via the House of Commons moves to the House of Lords where amendments are made, returns to House of Commons, for final discussion when complete the Bill is given Royal Assent and passes into law. M-commerce is a subset of E-commerce. Consumers can choose different devices to shop online. The devices are personal computers, laptops, mobile phones, tablets etc. There is a huge increase in number of mobile phones in India and this is expected to be leveraged by the E-commerce industry. There are more than 286 million debit cards in India and additional security (via security codes) enhances the scope of Ecommerce (Deshmukh, Sujata, & Deshmukh, Prashant, & Thampi, G. T 2013). Initial consumers prefer to shop those goods which don’t have touch and feel factor, but this trend is gradually changing. Customer satisfaction depends on information quality and service quality (Joshi, Priyanka 2015). There are some challenges in m-commerce. Small screens and sparse internet connectivity are some of them .One set of researcher looks at how M Commerce should be adopted. There are articles like "Effective optimization of Web Sites for Mobile access" which talks about technical problems that occurred while introducing E Commerce website over mobile phone screen. ...BEHAVIOR MODIFICATION The models of motivation that have been discussed up to this point are known as content theories of motivation because they focus on the content (nature) of items that may motivate a person. They relate to the person’s inner self and how that person’s internal sate of needs determine behavior. The major difficulty with content models of motivation is that the needs people have are not subjected to observation by managers or to precise measurements from monitoring processes. Organizational behavior modification, or OB Mod, is the application in organizations in the principles of behavior modification, which evolved from the work of B.F. Skinner. OB Mod and the next several models are process theories of motivation, since they provide perspective on the dynamics by which employees can be motivate`. LAW OF EFFECT OB Mod is based on the idea that depends on its consequence; therefore, it is possible for managers to control, or at least affect, a number of employees behavior by manipulating their consequence. OB Mod relies heavily on the law effect, which state that a person tends to repeat behavior that is accompanied by favorable consequence (reinforcement) and tends no to repeat behavior that is accompanied by unfavorable. Two conditions are required for successful application of OB Mod—the manager must be able to identify some powerful consequence (as perceived by the employees) and then must be able to admire them in such a way that the employees...

This book focuses largely on the changes that Indian society had to deal with after the end of the British rule in their country and how the economic and political state of India has changed since gaining independence. The book takes you on a 435 page long journey in which the rich history of India is explored and the change of India from being a colonized country to the world’s largest democracy is witnessed. I have compared French’s book India A Portrait to his other nonfiction history novel the Biography of V.S Naipaul and to Ramanajuns novel India after Gandhi. ...Iron and steel, cement, aluminium, machine tools, petrochemicals producing industries are called mineral based industries. Mining is the extraction of valuable minerals or other geological materials from the earth, from an orebody, lode, vein, (coal) seam or reef, which forms the mineralized horizon and package of economic interest to the miner. To gain access to the mineralised package within the lease area (aka Mining Rights Lease) it is often necessary to mine through (to create access, shafts, addits, ramps) or remove to the side waste material which is not of immediate interest to the miner. The total movement of ore and waste, which also includes the removal of soil in some cases, is referred to as the mining process. Depending on the nature, attitude, and grade of the orebody, it is often the case that more waste than ore is mined during the course of the life of a mine. The waste removal and placement is a major cost to the mining operator and to facilitate detailed planning the detailed geological and mineralisation characterization of the waste material forms an essential part of the geological exploration programme. The science of extractive metallurgy is a specialized area in the science of metallurgy that studies the extraction of valuable metals from their ores, especially through chemical or mechanical means. Mineral processing (or mineral dressing) is a specialized area in the science of metallurgy that studies the mechanical means of crushing, grinding, and washing...
