Gauss Rifles use magnets and metal to create acceleration of an object. When the ball is released from the hand the first magnets pulls it towards it and creates enough force to make kinetic energy in which is called one unit. When an object is accelerating and hits another object it sends the object in the other direction. On the gauss rifle gravity propels the metal ball into motion. The impact from that ball forces the other ball into motion while stopping the original ball. The gauss rifle can be experimented with to shoot the ball a longer or shorter distance. By making different stages in the rifle you can increase or decrease the amount of force that the ball receives. The stages are sets of magnets that direct the force into one ball.Every stages is considered one unit. In theory the more stages that there is the more energy that will be forced upon the ball. Once the ball is going through the stages things come into factor like friction for the stand, air pressure, and a small bit of magnetic pull when the ball is leaving the stage.
