“Gottlieb Mittelberger, a German Immigrant, Portrays the Difficulties of Immigration” is a personal account or diary from Gottlieb Mittelberger, an immigrant from Germany. Mittelberger’s personal account provides his experience in his journey to Pennsylvania in 1750 and return to Germany in 1754. Mittelberger was a German male immigrant who worked as a schoolmaster, which is also known as a teacher. Mittelberger is arguing that indentured servants would be better off in their homelands than in these new countries they are traveling to overseas. During his journey he traveled with many indentured servants and went into detail on how the conditions on these ships were absolutely horrible. In his document, Gottlieb Mittelberger states, “But
