I can agree with you that after Dr. Shipman should not have been allowed to practice medicine after he was convicted of forgery for forging the prescriptions for pain killers. When Kathleen Grundy passed away, Grundy’s daughter took notice of a poorly written document that convinced her it was a forgery. If she had not taken this suspicion to the police when she did, Dr. Shipman could have continued to murder more victims. Dr. Shipman also talked many families into cremation of the bodies so it is hard to tell how many victims there really are. I agree with you that autopsy to verify cause of death is a must but only if the family requests one or if the physician has more than 2 deaths in a 6 month period.
