I am going to tell you all about what me and my family do for Hanukkah! Hanukkah is a Jewish holiday celebrated for eight days and nights. Every day for those eight days you light one candle on the menorah. A menorah has nine candles on it (the middle one you just use it to light the others). Kids play a game called dreidel. A dreidel is a four-sided spinning top with a Hebrew letter on each side. It is used during Hanukkah to play a popular children's game that involves spinning the dreidel and betting on which Hebrew letter will be showing when the dreidel stops spinning. Children usually play for chocolate coins covered in gold colored tin foil. We also eat potato latkes. Potato latkes are a traditional Hanukkah food. It is like potato pancakes.
