Hi Tapvir, your thoughts on both of this week’s reading were very in-depth and to the point. Starting with the First World War Poems, I believe you addressed the poems themes perfectly. As I stated in my post, sadness truly seems to jump out as you read through each poem. The characteristic that I completely agree with you on is violence. In many ways, violence is the root to these poems being produced.
I also agree that the poems were written for the citizens to gain an understand of the war. You mentioned that these poems provided the soldiers with a voice. That is completely true. In many ways, I believe that soldiers wrote these poems to not only find a sense of therapy but also to show true about war.
