During the 1000’s through 1500’s, the men and women who were sought to as noble and honorable were: theologist, philosophers, monks, and nuns. Picking only one Middle Aged figure that exhibits exuberant features that stand out in my life was difficult; however, after researching Hildegard of Bigen, a female nun who has been called by her admires “one of the most important figures in the history of the Middle Ages” it was settled that she and I were alike. Hildegard traveled around Bigen in the early 1100’s at the age of 18. Hildegard was known for her lessons in Christianity; although she was widely known for her sermons, she was also acknowledged due to her Christian music that is still performed in churches today. Hildegard’s sermons were so powerful to those around her that listeners requested written copies of her work. In order to please her followers, she composed her words of prayer into over 70 different pieces of music. One of her most famous works is titled, Ordo Virtutum, and exhibits a man who follows Virtue, and then turns to follow the Devil, and then returns back to Virtue only to discover that the path of evil is a deadly choice.…show more content… Hildegard was able to have such a large following at the age of 18 and being able to have the ability to grow in ways that she did, in a campus such as Washburn, fills me with excitement.
