When I saw this pucture and it immediately caught my attention with the skinny Woman holding an expensive purse. The only words displayed on the advertisement is the prices of the handbag and the price for food for a week in his country. The picture is intended to make the viewer feel guilty for purchasing an expensive purse than helping people get what they need. This essay will explain the context, analysis, organization, and style/deliver of Cordaid’s advertisement. The advertisement is by Cordaid, a Catholic Dutch organization that helps fights poverty. The advertisement was to target a broad viewership, but mainly in the Netherlands. They have a lady lying in what looks like a non-developed type country desert. The contrast of the bright white purse compared to the ladys clothes and the naked desert backdrop. Which helps draw more attention to the purse, that then influences the reader to look at the white font next to the purse. This image is so powerful because it shows a difference between a non-developed country compared to a developed one. How theyre world is lot more different than ours; that is shown through clothing, environment, and the Woman herself. The clothing is worn as a robe and has a dull tone to it. It also appears to be one type of material. This shows how different their country or non-developed theirs is. A lot of trendy clothes in the United States or in Europe are usually colorful, contain text or a design, with multiple material, and are used for looks instead of having it to cover yourself up especially when the environment is all dirt. It looks as if there isn't a lot of trees in the background, but even the trees don't look as colorful as a healthy tree should. This shows that the environment that the Woman is in is a dry and hot place. This also shows and makes you realize how much these people need water, food, or shelter. although the prize is in euro you can clearly see the big difference in the prize of the handbag and the price it would take to feed them. The prize of the handbag can feed the women or the people that live there for up to 8 weeks which is alot. This advertisement made sure to keep the text very small so it wouldn't grab the readers attention at first but then when the reader realizes it's there you then feel guilty for spending a lot of money on a handbag instead of helping people in need of
