...Systems Consideration in HRIS In today’s knowledge economy, organizational success depends almost disproportionally on the performance of Human Resources (HR). To increase the effectiveness of Human Resource Management (HRM) organizations are becoming more dependent on human Resource Information Systems (HRIS). A HRIS organizes employee applicant and qualifications, organizational demographics, recruiting, professional development, performance appraisals, payroll, retention, and attrition. Organizations that implement HRIS’s improve the organizations administrative efficiency with faster information processing, improved employee communications, greater information accuracy, lover costs and overall HR productivity improvements (Beadles, 2005). When selecting a HRIS, Human Resources (HR) should consider the efficiencies of using software as a service, the inefficiencies of various Microsoft Access based database software, the risks involved with integrating and combining multiple products into one system, and the consequences of improper database maintenance. In analyzing HRIS’s that would be beneficial in my current organization I chose to focus on HRIS Pro by Micro Systems, and MyHRIS by Nuview Systems. Commercial Database Systems HRIS-Pro information management software allows organizations greater effectiveness in managing HR functions and responsibilities. The advantages of HRIS-Pro are the information systems cost, modular flexibility, expansion capabilities,...

...Running head: Human Resource System Executive Summary In 1992, Riordan Manufacturing Inc., implemented and established human resource information system (HRIS), which was included as part of a financial package. The HRIS package included functions such as maintaining personnel information, pay rate and tax information, hire and seniority dates, vacation leave for non-exempt employees, and organizational information. However, certain areas of the HRIS could be improved upon and developed. One area that needs improvement is the network communications between headquarters and all the Riordan plants. Improvements are also needed in central repository, resume storage, maintaining training and knowledge skills information, online employee user interface, and a central location for updating and maintaining employee personal and professional information. Improving the current HRIS activities would be advantageous to Riordan leadership and their employees. Hugh McMCauley, the COO for Riordan Manufacturing requested that the human resources (HR) system be analyzed to integrate the existing variety of tools in use in the present day to a single integrated application. The request will take advantage of a more sophisticated look for information systems technology in the HR department at Riordan Manufacturing. After the project is to be completed, Riordan Manufacturing will then be left with a detailed project plan that will provide a list of tasks, resources, schedule and budget required...

The Board of County Commissioners of Dona Ana County, the Mexico Supreme Court of Appeals held that when any employer chooses to provide an employment recommendation, the employer has a duty to not make negligent misrepresentation of current or past employee’s record when there is foreseeable potential risk of physical harm to the third party by the employee. In this case Joseph Herrera, an employee at the detention center was accused of sexually harassing the female inmates. Herrera’s supervisor at MVH where he was employed, advise Herrera that they will taking actions to discipline him due to the complaints and Herrera resigns. Herrera asks his employers to give him a letter of recommendation for an employer he was applying for and the supervisors give him an outstanding recommendation. His supervisors neglect to tell the prospective employer, that at the time of his employment, he was under investigation for sexual harassment. Because they did not disclose that information they employed Herrera and he repeated his actions. What was the legal issue in this case? There are two legal issues in question in the case of David v. ...Khattak Hamid Rafiq, National University of Modern Languages, Pakistan ABSTRACT Researchers have developed a relationship between HRM practices and organizational performance, but the relationship between HRM practice like job analysis – employee Job performance remains unexplored. This paper, based on a study of employees of Pakistan Public sector regulatory authorities of telecommunication, oil and gas, power, media, security exchange, banking sector and organizations being regulated by these authorities is an attempt to develop and test a hypothesized model linking HR importance of job analysis with employee job performance. Survey results of 568 employees indicated that practice of job analysis was strongly related to employee job performance. The findings suggest that an organisation-wide policy of job analysis is an important source of competitive advantage in its own right, and requires due attention of HR professionals. The study extends the findings of the HR–employee job performance research pursued in Western countries to a non-Western context. Keywords: Human resource management; HR practices in regulatory authorities; HR-performance linkage; Job analysis; Job performance; Job satisfaction; Job retention; Recruitment Process; Knowledge, skills and abilities INTRODUCTION I n western countries human resource management (HRM) research has shown a shift from microanalytical approach (individual performance) to a macro-strategic (organizational performance)...

...Human Resource Management: Satisfying the Organization and the People The sustained success of the newly created InterClean company after the merger will require top management’s commitment to designing and implementing a human resource management program geared toward developing both high performing employees and a high performing organization. Essentially every manager at InterClean will be required to be a human resource manager. Every manager will be required to set goals and objectives for the development and satisfaction of employees. An effective human resource management plan treats every employee as a valuable resource. InterClean’s success is dependent upon high performing employees, and without these employees there is no competitive advantage for the organization. Only through an effective human resource management plan will the organization’s strategies be properly aligned and integrated with the individual needs (Sims, 2002). Human resource management is a strategic approach to the management of the people of an organization, who individually and collectively contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the business (Wikipedia, 2009). An effective human resource management plan will focus on the recruitment, training and development, performance and career management, compensation and benefits, as well as progressive discipline if needed, for the people in the organization. Recruitment InterClean must ensure that it has the right people in place...
