Human behaviour is a deep reflection into the part of society they represent. Bridge to Terabithia by Katherine Patterson is a novel set around a group of young characters who we see the representations of in day to day life. One character in particular Janice Avery is shown as a bully whose school day is based around making people upset. We see how she is affects and is affected by the people around her through the setting, her actions, and plot.
Mostly, whenever we read about Janice Avery, the setting is the school. That is where she is the most powerful person among everyone, that is where she gets a lot of attention. Janice Avery likes to cause people trouble in order for her peers to pay attention to her and find her important. Every annoying thing she did was set in the school because the teachers did not care and no one was there to tell her off. School was a way she could escape her troubles and cause problems for someone else. Underneath she was hurt and disturbed and she took it out on anyone in sight.
