Whatever we need to do, oh I'll do it. I'm also an event planner. It's wonderful. Up until july, I was an engineer. Doing it for 11 years. Involved in JMJ, I loved everything about it, I was just busy. I had 3 little kids and work and all kinds of stuff going on. Not as involved as wanted to be. In April, our previous exec director wanted to retire. Looked at husband and said wanted to do this. Very fufilling. Transition into role. Completely new to me. So much fun and so awesome to be able to effect people's lives everyday. See the joy and gratefullness. Beautiful experence. Do you like your job? What do you like about it? I think the biggest thing is to be able to affect people in a positive way. As an enginner, I got to talk to oeopel and develop code, it was kind of boring and wasn't fulfilling. It was comfortable, I appreciated being paid very well. That was the hesitation. Once I made the jump, I realized that to be able to interact with people...

When I'M Brave Enough

...been the type to own up to them right off the bat. I find it awkward and sometimes too far off, raising a problem when ignoring it was all you probably needed. The thing is I still think about it. You’re not a idiot; it’s pretty obvious. I think you’re amazing and that won’t change no matter what this manages to morph itself into. And in my opinion, it doesn’t need to. But I think about the song, I think about the poems, I think about the unfinished story rotting because I’ve lost what motivated me to complete it. A story is a what-could-have-been right? When we daydream about our futures, daydream about bravery and acceptance and victory, it’s just a fantasy story of our lives. Sometimes I just have to write it down to make sure I don’t lose it. Don’t forget it. Understand that once upon a time, I was such and such. People say in the future, they’ll look back and laugh. I won’t laugh; I’ll understand. Perhaps not why, why you, why this time, why so silent and why so demanding but I’ll understand the circumstances. I’ll understand what drove me and what tore it apart. My entire life’s story out there for everyone to see. Sometimes I feel so exposed. It’s weaving together assumptions that are sometimes so out there, right in the open. But that’s okay, because even things I write a month ago, I no longer understand. I don’t know whom I was so pissed off at and what made me write a passage on loneliness. I don’t need to. It’s all in the moment. &...

Biography

...I am 47 years old and I live in Texarkana, Texas. I moved to Texarkana about twelve years ago to get away from the craziness in Houston, Texas. So, I decided to move to the country where I now live with my boyfriend, two, toypoodles, a ferret and my boyfriends parents. We all live in the country on 5 ½ acres. Our home is 2 homes in one which are both separated, the parents live on one side and we live on the other. Once you have been use to living the city life and move to the country it can be quite an adjustment because there is not much to do in Texarkana, Tx compared to Houston. For instance, simple things for me like driving to town seem like such a chore. Since moving to the country instead of going shopping for dinner no more then a mile from home I now have to drive over fifteen miles to town. Sometimes i feel like I have wasted my entire day. The up side of living in the country is that it is quite peaceful and you do not have your neighbor in your back yard. I have four children 2 girls and 2 boys. My girls are Diana my oldest 29 who has two children My grandchildren Makelia 7 and Baby Juan 4. My daughter Mary is 28 and she has 3 boys Vince 8, Louie, 3, and Baby Luke who is 1 ½ . Marketing Plan

...most popular chicken franchise chain restaurant first in the U.S and then in the world 1. Identify the marketing segment for the product and explain why this segment was selected; My product will be Korean style soy source fried chicken. It is kind of popular food in Korea especially, chicken business field. The uniqueness of product concept is simple. Comparing to Kentucky fried chicken, this chicken is fried by oil with soy source and other auxiliary ingredients. The other condition of business will be basically very similar to KFC. According to the study “ Market segmentation on the basis of food-related lifestyle of Croatian families,” the author, Tanja kestic, divides five category for food market segmentation such as buy motives, quality aspects of food, buy decision, cooking method, and consumption situations. Among these five different elements, I decided to focus on cooking method. There is clear reason why I selected this standard for this product. Most of all, I believe that taste is the most important decision factor for food. From the continual viewpoint, a cooking method determines most portion of taste of food. Especially, Chicken is the most popular food regardless of age, male or female, culture, region, etc. Actually, that is one of the reasons why I choose this criterion. Chicken has already too much similarity as favorite food through all over the world. In addition to the popularity, I choose limited category like fried chicken, so the material...

What Does Pig Breakfast Commitment Mean

...Have you ever heard of the chicken or pig breakfast commitment analogy? Well evidently there is one, it talks about a breakfast of ham and eggs, and which animal has made the biggest commitment to the meal. You could say the chicken because it loses all its eggs and possibly one of its children, but doesn’t die or you could state the pig as having the bigger commitment because it has to die to make the breakfast. I’ve been told to use the pig as the one with the bigger commitment and the chicken as the smaller commitment. I have also been told to have the first paragraph about my commitment to school. So my first paragraph will be about how I am a pig in terms of my commitment to school. Then my second paragraph will be about how I am a chicken...

Feral Children

...Feral Children By: Austin Arndt The video I choose to watch about feral children was about a boy named Sujit that was raised by chickens. He was raised by chickens because as a young child his parents became annoyed and frustrated with him so they locked him in the chicken coop for a lot of his childhood, because of this Sujit never learned any of the basic skills that we all know how to do like read, write, speak and other daily tasks. I think what Sujit’s parents did to him was terrible. I think that Sujit’s parents are terrible people for doing what they did to him. In the video they show Sujit when they first meet him. He cannot do anything or he can't understand anything that anyone is trying to tell him. Since he was raised by chickens he ate like a chicken and acted like a chicken, he even tried to speak with people the way chickens talk to each other. After they found Sujit they put him in a nursing home where they chained him up to a wall where he could only lay on his bed. I felt terrible for Sujit. No one tried to help him learn new things or how to talk. After a couple of years people took Sujit out of the nursing home where he was treated terrible and some very nice people brought him in where they devote almost every day to help Sujit learn basic skills that we use everyday. They are trying to teach him how to speak and read and write. He is making progress but since he learned the way of the chickens basically developed his brain they are pretty sure that...

Treatment of Factory Farm Animals

...part for all things to survive. Since it is so important, the culture surrounding our food is quite diverse and has grown through the ages. In the past, people would usually make their own food through farms or other means. However, today the source of our food mainly comes from grocery stores or we just go out to eat either at a sit down or fast food restaurant. Because of the means we go about getting our food, the source of where the restaurants or grocery stores get their food is unknown to us. Just the other day I went to a sit down restaurant and ordered chicken wings. Obviously there are laws protecting people from getting tainted food, but the source of this food was unknown to me and could of had something wrong with it. Luckily I am fine and I survived that meal, but the process of how that food got to my plate and how that animal was treated before it was slaughtered to become my food was unknown to me. Even though farm animals such as chickens, pigs, and cows are most likely going to be killed for food purposes, they are living things and do deserve to live a decent life before they become our food. The opposition might argue that there are too many people in this world who eat meat, so these means are necessary to feed all the people. But if the meat eating society were to look closely at how these animals were treated before becoming our food in most cases they would not see a very good life and even would be disgusted with the environments as well as the...

Bus 475 Week 1 Assignment

...I have decided I would like to open a store called “Chicken and Rib Crib”. Chicken and Rib Crib is a franchise. I first became aware of this company when I worked about 10 miles from my home. We would order from this place frequently because they offered both Fried and Grilled chicken, as well as Ribs. They provide home style sides like biscuits, mashed potatoes, corn on the cob, as well as cole slaw, French fries and other deli style sides. The food quality is much better than fast food, but is only offered for carry out or delivery. I would open a Chicken and Rib Crib in a strip mall near my home. The strip mall will alow a small storefront with enough room for the kitchen, while There is not a store like this in the area. My Biggest competition would be places that offer pickup and delivery at a reasonable price. Pizza Places, Chinese restaurants, and of course Kentucky Fried Chicken would be the most direct competition. My store would be most appealing to middle income families who have little desire to cook after a long day at work, and want a meal that has a home style feel. Chicken and Rib Crib offer these meals at a reasonable price which allows customers to save money over other places that charge a premium for Ribs. In the area there are two places that offer ribs, and charge a premium price for them. A dinner with a full rack of ribs can cost 25-35 dollars. Chicken and rib crib offers meals with sides that will feed a family of 4 for less than 40 dollars. People...

...Recipe Chicken and Rice The story of my recipe tells a little bit about the very first dish I cooked growing up with my aunt. I grew up in Annville Texas which is about15 minutes away from Corpus. In this area with a high population of Mexicans, one dish that is liked by many is Spanish rice. Which when it comes to rice I rather not eat it. In my entire life since I was younger I always made a big deal on not eating rice, because I personally did not like it while everyone else did. I just did not like the texture of it and also the way it tasted and ever since then I just completely stay away from any types of rice. Then one evening during December when it was freezing outside I went over to my Aunt Shana’s house, which she makes the most comforting things to eat in this kind of weather, and to go and hang out with her and my older cousin. When it came to going over there I would always get excited to go and visit because she cooks frequently and it’s always so delicious; but when I have smelled the food in past as she is cooking it reminds me of when we would always get together with everyone and have family night. I felt lucky to have had the opportunity to be surrounded by family that appreciates spending time together. So when I went over the next time Shana was in the kitchen about to start cooking. But before she started preparing the meal I wanted to help her with the cooking and so I asked her what she was going to cook and she says “my famous chicken and rice”...

Chickens

...Nine Ten, a Big Fat Hen. Are Arsenicals in Chicken Worth the Risk? According to an article at Science Daily, “The annual per capita human consumption of poultry products is approximately 100 lbs. This is greater demand than that of any other animal- or vegetable-derived protein source in the U.S. To satisfy this demand, each year, the U.S. poultry industry raises nearly 9 billion broiler chickens” ("Banned Antibiotics”). In order to accomplish raising this many chickens the farmers have found it necessary to use antibiotic compounds containing arsenic. Arsenic is a medication that farmers put in the chicken feed to help chickens grow heavier at a much faster rate, help prevent diseases, and give support to tissue and vascular development. This will make the muscle of the chickens more appealing to the consumers (Greiff). Thus, they are produced in a much shorter time span. Critics of the use of growth promoters such as arsenicals point out disturbing side effects. For example: the chickens become extremely overweight. This reaches the point where their legs cannot even hold up their bodies. This causes them to fall over and eventually die. Some of the chickens that make it past the farms and into the grocery store can carry bacteria that can cause foodborne illnesses and can even cause cancer. Defenders of the use of the arsenic-containing antibiotics argue that with the use of these antibiotics, money can be saved not only by the company, but also for the consumers...

Meal Prepping Research Paper

...and how it is personally going for me. I have been meal prepping for almost a month now, and I can honestly say it has made my everyday life so much easier. With meal prepping I know exactly what I am eating that day. I don't have to ask myself, "what am I going to eat?" because it's already prepared. I meal prep for both lunch and supper. I make enough food for two days. On the second day is when I will cook for the next two days. So I only have to cook every other day, which is great because it gives me more time to catch up on other things (like the new episode of Grey's Anatomy). Isn't that show amazing?! In my previous post I went into a little detail about some of the foods I eat, so now I will give some examples of what my meals look like and consist of:...

...into India. Firstly, the KFC does not concern about animal rights, the chickens served by KFC are being given hormones, antibiotics and arsenic to fatten them. Secondly, the activists said that junk food like KFC would create many diseases like obesity and heart attack, and that the chicken served by KFC was full of chemicals. Thirdly, foreign fast food chain would deplete India’s livestock, which would affect the agriculture and environment. In addition, KFC would encourage Indian farmers to shift from growing basic crops to animals feed and meat causing the poorer section of society couldn’t afford for the food. Furthermore, the economist also said that fast food joint like KFC would create more trash in the cities. In my opinion, I agree with the reasons given by the protestors of KFC. This is because KFC could pose threats to Indian people and society. Chicken served by KFC is full of chemicals such as hormones and antibiotics; in addition, the consumption of fast food like KFC could bring many diseases. Unlike tradition food in India, which is more nutritious, resulted in Indian people has relatively low disease. Therefore, I think India is one of the healthy countries and should not be harmed by fast food that can bring many diseases like obesity and cancer. Apart from that, larger part of the societies has relatively low income and would not be able to afford to buy meat and products from KFC, so I believe that if KFC still continue their business in India, they will...
