...Indiana Jones is having a good day. After a post-divorce, years-long moratorium on relationships with men, she runs into wildly attractive—and obviously interested—J.J. Jackson. Then, ditto, Tyler Lawrence. It’s mid-February, the very last game of the season has been played, and these two have NFL written all over them. Indy knows the type because her ex was just exactly that sort. These hot men might stir her blood, but she doesn’t find it that hard to resist. Then big Sigge Ahlstrand goes off the mountain and shows up at her cabin outside of Vail. He stands there injured, a field-dressing on his knee, and there’s nothing she can do but invite him in. When his ride comes for him, Indy is barely surprised to see J.J. and Tyler on her doorstep....

...In the Hollywood blockbuster Indiana Jones Raiders of the Lost Ark, archaeology is portrayed as a perilous adventure filled with enemies and confrontation at every turn. The main protagonist and archaeologist, Indiana Jones is a swashbuckling scientist who is constantly hunting and securing priceless objects and artifacts. The opening scene of the film is clear evidence of archaeology being depicted as a hazardous occupation. For example, one of the men with Dr. Jones (Indy) attempts to attack him with a pistol while Jones’s back is turned. This is not the only betrayal Indiana Jones would end up facing. He was also betrayed later when the greed of another man from his exploration group attempts to flee with the treasure that Indy had previously...

...Analysis: Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore Stephen Brester Ecology for Sustainable Management SMGT 310 December 15, 2012 Executive Summary Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore is a vast area that is a unit of the National Park System and is also designated as a U.S. National Lakeshore. This park is located in Northwest Indiana, USA, on the southern shores of Lake Michigan. The park is comprised of over 15,000 acres of dunes, oak savannas, swamps, bogs, prairies, rivers, and forests. This park is a great example of a vast and unique environment resulting from the retreat of the last great continental glacier some 14,000 years ago. (1) This park is also located within an urban setting and is closely located to the highly populated industrialized cities of Gary, Indiana and Chicago, Illinois. Early, overharvesting of forests and farming impacted the area’s ecology and resources. Residential and industrial developments over time coupled with climate change have altered natural processes for the environment. Today the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore has a challenge associated with balancing impacts of human actions within fragile natural environments. Restoration plans by resource managers for the area have been focused on mitigating the damage done in the past. The key in restoring the area is planning for the future, limiting new developments, and considering future climate will help aid in the restoration. (1) Background Indiana Dunes National...

...Through the analysis of candidates for national, state, and local politics, residency issues are raised as an age-old political tactic used by incumbents and challengers alike to question whether an opponent is qualified for the job or sufficiently focused on home state concerns. A last example of residency playing a role in which a lost election was the outcome was in the case of Senator Richard Lugar (R-Indiana). The Hoosier State’s former senior senator lost reelection in 2012 after news reports revealed that he stayed in hotels whenever he visited Indiana and kept his primary home in Virginia. Making matters worse, “Lugar did not seem to heed the warnings of GOP strategists, who had warned him that he might lose if he didn’t aggressively tackle the appearance of being disconnected from his home state. Lugar didn’t think he had to worry-he had won reelection with more than 67 percent of the vote since 1982” (O’Keefe, 2014). But ultimately, the residency issue contributed to his downfall. He was defeated in a GOP primary by Richard Mourdock, who went on to lose to Senator Joe Donnelly...

...Lab 2 Tori Ramsey Purdue University Calumet ITS 200 Ethics & Legal Issues in Information Technology Mr. Daniel R. O’Day October 12, 2015 Lab 2 Lab two focuses on information about IT professionals and IT users and common ethical issues they face. This lab will help me with any future issues I may come across during my career whether it be with other employees in the company I work for or peers that are in facing an issue that goes against the IT professional codes of ethics. Part One: “What Would You Do?” – Situation 1 Even though my relationship with my old roommate is important to me, I would not be able to put in a good word or get his resume into the “right hands.” I would be lying at my job (a place that I worked hard to even get into) and that could get me into a lot of trouble if the company realized that he does not actually have the knowledge he says he does. Here’s exactly what happened. My old college roommate got let go from his job and has asked me to help him become an employee at the company I work for. I told him that I have no problem putting in a good word and getting his resume in the “right hands” but then I saw his resume. The problem is that he greatly exaggerated pretty much everything single thing on his resume and expects me to not tell my boss that he actually does not have the knowledge he says he does so that he could get the job. There are a lot of people who can be put into harms way if I were to lie for my old college...

...SWOT Analysis Fourwinds Marina has a variety of strengths, including being an attractive boating destination and the largest full-service marina of its kind in the U.S., but a major weakness is that the company has been mismanaged since day one. None of its general managers were experienced in marina operations, including its newest, Jack Keltner, the sixth GM in 5 years. The largest opportunities are the marina's central location to urban areas and its close proximity to Indianapolis' high income population. The company does have a threat: it has no control over slip rental rates. Those are set by the State of Indiana. It should be noted that while the Pointe, a nearby condo development, will be a source of new customers to the marina, it could lure guests away from the marina's sister-company, the Inn at Fourwinds. The Taggert Corporation (TC) owns the marina and the inn. The corporation's strategy changed from development to operational sustainability with the institution of much-needed financial controls and reporting after it became clear that operational problems were preventing the company from securing new investors. According to Sandy Taggert (1976), president of TC, "we had a lot of people up to the minister but none would say yes." Jack is expected to reverse the marina's operational losses and ensure that TC can meet its financial obligations to the state and to its investors. TC is set-up under the division organizational function, with the marina...

...The Michigan Prison system is a very complex prison system but is in great need of reform. The michigan Prison system costs tax payers over 2 billion a year and has nearly 47 percent more prisions than other great lake states. The costs of the michigan prison system makes up more than 20 percent of the state budget. The state is in despereate need of reform or change to keep there prison system running. One key promblem in the prison system is the rapid boom in prison population. since 1960 the population in the prisons have grown from 9,000 inmates to over 50,000 inmates. Michigan on avergae keeps prisoners locked up a year longer than other states. Michigan also has more prisoners locked up past there proale date than other states do. What is being done about this promblem, well not alot. Governor Jennifer Grandholm of michigan had promised reform in the prison system. She closed 20 small prison camps which will save the state of michigan over 1 billion dollars over a ten year period. She also spoke about reducing prison population however most michigan inmates served there full sentence or ever longer. On average one inmate costs the state of michigan 33,000 dollars to keep locked up. The solution would seem to be to release inamtes early however this is not an idea the public typically likes. The taxpayers desparatly want lower taxes but do not want criminals on the street. However when Gov. Grandholm closed prison camps the crime acually went...
