...The most compelling topics learned in intellipath so far is needs verse wants. Because it helps you understand the different between needs and wants. Needs is for example is when you need a new car, but you buy new clothes instead. Wants for example is when you want to buy a new computer, but you don’t have enough money to buy it. So the needs verse wants topic helped me understand that even when you need something important such as a new car, its best for you to buy the car instead of getting the new computer that you want. Completing the intellipath help understand the subject of matter by explaining the different ideas of each subject. Reading is not something that Iike to do, but in order to know what you are doing you have to read the entire intellipath to get a better understanding of the subject. Sometimes when I read the intellipath there are a bunch of things that I need to clarified in order to get the exact meaning. The topic I would like to learn more is time management, because one day when I finish school I would like to get a job that allows me to accomplish specific tasks, projects, and goals complying with a due date. Learning about time management will also help you learn more ways to get the job done quicker. Some jobs want you to get things done a little quicker, because they don’t want you to fall behind. So when you are working a difficult job, you must learn how to manage your...

Unit Five

...Going into the course, English Composition I had no idea what to expect. I thought maybe because we were finished with our intro class that here’s where the test and quizzes began. Writing is just about my weakest academic point and I knew I was up for a challenge with this course. Fortunately enough I was wrong about the whole course! It was not as hard as I expected. And man, did those intellipath really help. Being that you read the material and go straight to practice questions and then to another portion of questions it really helped. It helped stick the material in my head. I guess because you continue to see that same question or go over the same material it helped me memorize the work. I’ve learned that Intellipath is almost the best way for me to learn. Throughout my school years I’ve been terrible with writing. It was challenging for me because I would sometimes get writer’s block or I may misuse grammar sometimes. But with this course and the help or criticism of my teacher that was a great push a very much helpful. Surprisingly my classmates were a great help as well, and they may not even know it. But they may ask a question that I don’t know during a live chat or even answer a question. Even during the discussion board students would post and reply helpful thoughts that were very encouraging . I’ve over came obstacles that I didn’t know was possible. I ‘ve grown to actually like English and see myself doing a lot better with my writing skills and grammar...

Science

...Woodolph M. Richard 06/16/2014 Week 2 I.P The demographic transition model is a model that describes population change over time. It is based on an interpretation begun in 1929 by the American demographer Warren Thompson, of the observed changes, or transitions, in birth and death rates in industrialized societies over the past two hundred years or so. American geographer, Warren Thompson, developed this model in 1929 in NYC in the midst of the stock market crash and onset of the Depression. (Keith Montgomery, 2013) There are four phases of demographic transition. In phase 1, preindustrial cultures that have both high birth and death rates. During this phase the population size doesn't increase very fast at all. Phase 2 is the also called the "mortality transition". Death rates drop due to improved health of the population, including infants. The end of phase 2 and the beginning of phase 3 have the highest net growth rates (birth - death rates). Phase 3 is also called either the "industrial" stage or the "fertility transition". This phase represents the decrease in births that can be correlated to many factors. The factors that lead to the decrease in fertility are the point of this case study. Phase 4 represents post-industrial stage. Populations in this phase have low net growth rates again, leading to net zero population growth, and in some cases negative net growth rate. Three living conditions in developed countries that have reached phase four, and contrast them with...

Why Tattoos Are Allowed in the Workplace

...For Unit 5, you will submit a final expository essay that blends the viewpoints from Units 3 and 4. Specifically, you will bring together the writing techniques that you have learned throughout the course to compose an expository paper. Exposition is a type of discourse that is used to explain, describe, or inform. In an expository essay, the purpose is to give readers a balanced account of a subject with a neutral, objective tone (usually third-person point of view or voice) and offer the opportunity to incorporate a combination of writing techniques. Your final capstone project will involve integrating both viewpoints of your selected question topic that you worked with in Units 3 and 4. Your expository essay will present both sides of your controversial issue to explain, describe, and inform your audience using an unemotive, neutral, and objective writing style through the use of third-person voice and APA 6th edition format. For this final assignment, you will complete the following: Step 1: Using the thesis statement, outline, and essay that you developed in Unit 3, revise your content. Be sure to incorporate any instructor feedback and suggestions. Step 2: Based on the instructor feedback that you received from Unit 4 (opposing view draft), revise your content. The Management Decision That Was Made

...Abstract After reading the requirements of this assignment I was lost. I had read chapters 1-4, also did my intellipath. But I’m not really sure if I have it figured out now. I believe I need to chose what path is best for the business but also have to keep the wife happy. Not always an easy thing but it is doable. A partnership would be the answer to the situation. A partnership allows multiple advantages which I hope to explore further. The Management Decision that was made I felt that after looking over the different business categories, Sole Proprietorship, Partnership, and Corporation. Let’s look at Sole Proprietorship; this is how a lot of large business started out. McDonalds started out in 1937 as a food stand selling hamburgers for about $.10 and bottomless orange drink. The idea was expanded into a multi-billion dollar business. This kind of small business can go big and make it or they can fold up and disappear. There is a small start up cost. The taxes are included in the owner’s personal taxes and easier to control the business. A Partnership is what my Uncle Wayne had when he started his cleaning service. Three people joined together and contributed to the business with funds and experience. After being business for a couple years Wayne bought out one of his partners changing the business dynamics. Even though he still had a partner Larry became a limited partner and after a few years Wayne bought him out as while. Now Uncle Wayne owns and runs Delta Cleaning...

...Considering there are multiple ways of solving a quadratic equation, there might be a method that you prefer over the others. You also need to take into consideration that some methods are not the best route to take depending on the equation. For example, if you have (x+5)2 you cannot use the quadratic formula with this equation without squaring the binomial. In my opinion, and through the Intellipath of my last math course I found the quadratic formula, factoring a quadratic equation, and factoring by grouping the simplest. Whereas, completing the square of a quadratic equation was very difficult for me to get through. I do not mind using the quadratic formula, because it is as simple as plugging in your values and solving the equation. So if you have y= x2+5x+4, we can use our quadratic equation format of y=ax2+bx+c, where a, b, and c are the coefficients and plug in our values to the formula to solve for x. Here is the quadratic formula, x=-b±b2-4ac2a . So now we just need to set our a, b, and c values. A=1 (Since there is no coefficient on the x2 it is a one), B=5, and C=4. So now we just plug in the values and solve.x=-(5)±(5)2-4(1)(4)2(1) → x=-(5)±25-162 → x=-5±92 → x=-5±32 →x=-5+32 =-1 x=-5-32 =-4 so x equals (– 4) or (– 1). Now if we were going solve this same equation by factoring, we need to ask ourselves what factors of 4 are the product of 5. Since 4 factors in to 4 and 1 and 2 and 2 this problem is fairly simple. We know that 2+2 doesn’t equal 5, but...
