Richard Henley is a man who is sixty-four years old, he currently resides in Houston but was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. He has a love for baseball that started when he was young and a burning passion for helping the people around him, which has led him to many places all around the world where he spent many years of his life dedicated to teaching, and helping kids in third world countries. Helping people has always been what Richard has done, itis what makes him who he is. Growing up Henley had a great deal of responsibility put on him to take care of his two little brothers, who were five and seven years younger than him because both of his parents lived very busy lives. He would help them get ready in the morning, walk them to school, and help them with their homework. To them he was their role model, they looked up to him because he was the only…show more content… Richard also loved to play the game of baseball in his free time, he would go outside with the rest of the kids in his neighborhood and they would get together and split up into teams. First base was the position Richard played because it was the same position that his favorite player, “Carl Yastrzemski” played while he was on the red sox. The thought of going to a red sox game was just a dream to him, until his sixteenth birthday when the red Sox came to play the newly formed, Houston Astros and he got to go down to Houston to watch the game. October twenty-seventh, 2004 was one of the biggest days of Richards life because it was the day the red sox won the world series for the first time in eighty-six years, “I felt like I had been waiting my whole life for that moment.” Being able to watch the red sox win was a dream come true for Richard and it is something he will never
