...Running Head: WEBOMETRICS RANKING AND RATING IMPROVEMENT 1 Webometrics Rating and Ranking Improvement as a Marketing Strategy Sintyadi Thong Universitas Mercu Buana WEBOMETRICS RANKING AND RATING IMPROVEMENT Abstract Webometrics (www.webometrics.info) has been used as one of the tools when making 2 decisions in choosing a University. When a prospect has several choices of Universities providing the same area of study, rating and ranking would come into consideration as the final – if not, an assessed weight in the decision making. Rating and ranking also shows the performance indicator and also shows how prestigious the University is. Through Webometrics, prospects can see the ranking of a University either regionally or internationally based on their rating, and the rating and ranking are updated periodically. Many Universities adopted this rating and ranking system on their own website as their marketing strategy to show that they are better than competitor Universities and the use of Webometrics can be analysed as it displays the University's prestige. This paper will discuss the us of Webometrics as marketing strategy by improving the University's rating and ranking in Webometrics. keyword(s): Webometrics, University rating, marketing strategy, web impact. ...Assignment 1: Sealed Bids vs. Competitive Proposals Howard Dingle William La Salle BUS 315- Cost and Price Analysis 10-28-12 Abstract In order to compare and contrast Competitive Contracts and Sealed Bidding Contracts, I have to define each term. After defining the terms I have to explain which contract I think is the most valued contract alternative. Write a 1-2 page paper in which you compare and contrast sealed bidding and competitive proposals in terms of which are most advantageous to contractors. In order to do compare and contrast analysis of seal bidding contracts and competitive proposal contracts, I have to define each concept fully. After completing this task, then I can come to a decision in which I think which contract is the most suited to conduct business in my opinion. Sealed bid is the document enclosed in a glued (sealed) envelope and submitted in response to invitation-to-bid (ITB). Sealed bids received up to the deadline date are generally opened at a stated time and place (usually in the presence of anyone who may wish to be present) and evaluated for award of a contract. Competitive sealed bids are for purchases of items of tangible personal property; services and construction over $10,000 or $20,000 small purchase limits. Bids for construction contractors or heavy equipment purchases are good examples of a competitive sealed bid. Competitive Proposals is a procurement that meets the following criteria: 1. Is initiated by...

...MANAGEMEN THOUGHT Critical Review Attitude Towards Knowledge Sharing Behavior Lenny Martini ‐ 29006014 MSM ITB ‐ 2006 Attitude Towards Knowledge Sharing Behavior : A Critical Review 1..O Source VERVIEW OF THE PAPER Title of the Paper “ Attitude Towards Knowledge Sharing Behavior” The Journal of Computer Information Systems; Winter 2005/2006; pg.45-51 Writers • • Sai Ho Kwok – California State University, Long Beach, California Sheng Gao – The Hong Kong University of Science & Technology, Kowloon Abstract Based on the theory of reasoned action, this study is focused on an individual’s behavior of knowledge sharing with respect to information system/ information technology (IS/IT) by investigating their attitude towards knowledge sharing. Three variables, namely extrinsic motivation, absorptive capacity and channel richness, were examined as influential factors affecting people’s attitude towards knowledge sharing. A structural survey was conducted to test the relationships between attitude and the three variables. The results show that extrinsic motivation imposed no impact on an individual’s attitude towards knowledge sharing while the other two factors played a significant part. The results are consistent with the psychological theories and we showed the applicability of the theories in the case of knowledge sharing. Keywords : Knowledge sharing, attitude, extrinsic motivation, absorptive capacity, channel richness, knowledge management. Objectives...

...Introduction and How to make a Bid (Group 9) Submitted By: Clet, Mark Anthony C. Guevarra, Luis Carlo C. Ramirez, Noel S. BSME V-1 Submitted To: Engr. Armingol B. Morales (Instructor) BIDDING is an offer (often competitive) of setting a price one is willing to pay for something or a demand that something be done. A price offer is called a bid. The term may be used in context of auctions, stock exchange, card games, or real estate. Bidding is used by various economic niche for determining the demand and hence the value of the article or property, in today's world of advance technology, Internet is one of the most favorite platforms for providing bidding facilities, it is the most natural way of determining the price of a commodity in a free market economy. Biddings are arranged by first disclosing the time and space location of the place where the bid is to be performed, so that more interested bidders may participate and the most "true" price of the commodity may come out, in terms of bidding on Internet the time frame for posting the bids may be a topic of interest. For some auction houses, bidding is meant to be fun and enjoyable, but remember that each bid you place enters you into a binding contract. All bids are active until the auction ends. Many similar terms that may use or may not use the similar concept have been evolved in the recent past in connection to bidding, such as reverse auction, social bidding, or many other game class ideas that promote...

...of the building. The process and these formulas are insensitive both to the variations in the operational characteristics of terminals and to the overall variability in the level and nature of the traffic. This paper presents practical procedures for incorporating stochastic considerations into terminal design, based both on theory and extensive experience internationally at major airports. The approach builds upon detailed consideration of the sequences of flows of the passengers, their likely dwell-time in each facility, and their psychological response to the configuration of the spaces. The overall objective is to create flexible designs that use space efficiently under the broad range of conditions that may prevail. It entails an iterative process of exploring the response of design options to different patterns of loads. This approach invites computerized models of the performance of terminals with spread-sheet like capability to answer what-if questions rapidly. PASSENGER TERMINAL DESIGN Amedeo R. Odoni and Richard de Neufville Massachusetts Institute of Technology Introduction Passenger terminals at airports are very expensive, both absolutely and per gate for aircraft. As of 1990, for example, the new International Terminal Building (ITB) for Sydney will cost about US$ 200 million, or 25 million per gate; the central terminal for the new Milano/Malpensa airport about US$ ???? million or ???? per gate....

...color, texture, hygroscopic properties, combustibility, sugar and alkaloid contents. Monitoring N applications thoroughly for form, quantity, and timing of application is a prerequisite in modern agriculture. As in other field crops, balanced N-K fertilization enhances tobacco growth and improves the uptake of both nutrients, which in turn reduces nitrate losses during and after the cropping season. The importance of K on mineral nutrition in tobacco production in terms of yield and quality is presented. The role of K in determining the chemical composition of tobacco leaf is now well established. K content of dry matter must reach 2 to 2.5 percent and chloride (Cl) content must remain below 1 to 1.5 percent in order to ensure good maturation, perfect combustibility and a good taste. The paper reports several pot and field experiments carried out in France, China and Cuba, in which various factors affecting yield and quality of the tobacco crop were studied including dose, source, and timing of potash applications. The effect of the combination of various potash forms (potassium sulphate, potassium chloride, potassium nitrate, potassium bicarbonate) with two N sources (nitrate –N from potassium nitrate, and ureic nitrogen from urea) was investigated. The following measurements were recorded: yield parameters; mineral nutrients; sugar; the alkaloid contents of tobacco leaves at three stalk-levels; and water-soluble alkalinity which is an indicator of combustibility. In an experiment...

...Osgood-Schlatter Disease: A General Overview Abstract In sports and athletic lifestyles, there is an increased risk for injury as well as specific injuries that correlate with a respective sport. There is a particular disease that can occur in a number of sports activities called Osgood-Schlatter disease (OSD). It is named after two surgeons who originally founded the diagnosis in 1903. The biggest aspect of Osgood-Schlatter (OS), is that its target population are adolescents during periods of growth. The condition is not a disease that causes permanent or long-term disabilities. This paper will further discuss the different aspects of OS such as the main cause, common reported symptoms, varying forms of treatment, prevention methods and different physical therapy implications. Cause and Etiology The exact etiology of OS is idiopathic, making it unknown and debated over the years. The common theory is OS is an injury due to overuse. (Whitmore, 2013). It is believed that OS is caused by repetitive, forceful contractions of the quadriceps muscle tendon pulling on the “immature tibial tuberosity” (Tuong, White, 2011). This repeated traction force can be strong enough to pull bone fragments off the tuberosity or in worse cases, pull the proximal portion of the tendon off the tibia causing the tuberosity to become elevated resulting in pain and inflammation (Sullivan, 2014). The reason the condition is viewed at such a high level of importance is because the tuberosity is...
