How is this related to politics?:
As Jagmeet Singh is the leader of the NDP, he will have the opportunity to run for PM. This means he can select new cabinet ministers and make changes in the House of Commons.

How are citizens affected?:
The elected political party will create new guidelines or follow a basis of rules. They each have their own goals on what they should do. Having them do these actions will ultimately affect us also.
