In order to become a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, you must first be in college, take some health and science classes and try to get into the Nursing program as a Registered Nurse. The RN programs are very selective, so they usually prefer those with a GPA of 3.0 or higher to be accepted into the nursing program.
Once you are into the nursing program, and completed the courses, you will then need to take the State Board Nursing exam as a Registered Nurse. Upon completion of the courses and passing the State Board Nursing exam, you will be licensed as a Registered Nurse. As an RN prior to becoming a CRNA, you will need to work in hospital facility in the Emergency Department, Surgery room, and in the Intensive Care Unit to gain experience and be expose to the atmosphere. By gaining experience in those departments, it will enhance the knowledge and skills to become an exceptional Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist.
While working in the hospital, you should enroll in the Bachelor’s Nursing program. After completing the Bachelor’s Nursing program and obtaining a BSN degree, you can then enroll in the CRNA program for your Master’s; and once you complete the CRNA program and obtained the Master’s degree in CRNA, you can work as an Intern in hospitals, small or large facilities that offers internships in CRNA. Upon working as an intern, you will also begin to gain more knowledge and skills in working as a CRNA, and once you’ve mastered those skills and have the potentials, you will officially be a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist.
According to the American Nurses Association, CRNAs monitors the patient’s vital signs and adjusts the level of anesthesia accordingly, while coordinating with the surgical team. The process of becoming a CRNA typically takes between two to three years. The highest educational program for CRNAs is a masters-level program and all students must already be registered nurses with current licenses (CRNASchools101.com).
Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) are among the highest-paid nurses in the industry and have undergone a rigorous training program in order to acquire the skills and knowledge they need to be successful in this growing field (CRNASchools101.com).
Organizational incentives and Mentoring plays a great role in developing and attracting a talent pool of young and energetic individuals. Incentives are the benefits that are offered to the employees as a result to their services. Incentives are important because they are the basic attraction of a job. A company having good incentive plans would have more people willing to do the job. In contrast, a company who does not have good incentive plans will suffer because people would be less willing to work for it. Therefore, it plays a key role in attracting and developing a talent pool. On the other hand, Mentoring is important because it is the grooming of talent pool. An organization that offers grooming opportunities will lead in having willing workers rather than the one who does not (blurtit.com).
