Personal Statement

Ever since my studies in GCSE and upwards, I have always had a substantial interest in Architecture and 3D Design, I am clear this is the course I want to pursue as it holds aspects of my personality such as understanding art and design, science and maths. It has influenced my work heavily and continues to do so throughout any stage of my education, for example many of my final pieces have had architectural and design relation and due to that, I believe I have strengthened and broadened my knowledge on the topic. I appreciate the difficulty of the subject and I believe that it is an engaging career to go ahead into to, which is attractive to me as it means it will be stimulating and thought-provoking at all times. I believe my adaptability and flexibility to deal with architectural and design problems during all stages suggests I am adequate for the job of architecture. …show more content…
My ideas have be enhanced by my month long travel around Europe, ranging from Amsterdam, Berlin, Prague, Budapest, Croatia and Barcelona. By visiting these beautiful, diverse cities, it has expanded my visual and creative perception in art, design and architecture. The most fascinating and exhilarating city from my travelling would be Amsterdam, this is due to the Canal houses and seeing architectural movements such as Art Nouveau and Art Deco in real life, which Barcelona also had with The Sagrada Familia and Casa Batllo, designed by Antonio Gaudi, show casting his creative originality. The university I am attending has also given me the chance to experiment with various ways of creating work such as print making, painting, photography and 3D work.
