...people in today’s society view that sex education does not have any effect on the rate of teen pregnancy, it in fact is proven that sex education can reduce teen pregnancy. Sex education has caused a plunge in the United States, teen birth rates based on a report done by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention ( CDC ). It states that in 2015, a total of 229,715 babies were born to women aged 15–19 years, for a birth rate of 22.3 per 1,000 women in this age group. This is another low record for U.S. teens and a drop of 8% from 2014. The birth rates fell 9% for women aged 15–17 years and 7% for women aged 18–19 years. The evidences collected from this study proved that sex education indeed can reduce teen pregnancy with the right knowleage given to our teens. Many parents agree that sex education should not be taught in our school systems. Are these parents willing to take time out of their busy day to sit their children down and have a heart-to-heart conversation with their children about sex? Do they themselves as parents know all there is to know about sex and do they know about all the STD's out there and contraceptives? Also, a child may not feel comfortable talking to their parents about sex which can be embrassing sometimes and cause them to rush their parents through the conversation not fully grasping and paying attention to the information their parents are trying to instill in them.
