Chapter number 1199 was then formed with the approval of the Mount Sinai Medical Center leadership. Since its inception, the Union has worked with the Medical Center to improve nursing process thereby improving patient satisfaction and also with patient safety initiatives. The larger organization of Mount Sinai may be at risk from state nursing regulations if a strike occurs due to the possibility of patient abandonment.
