LifeBook S7110 Disassembly
ESD Precautions are required when working on this LifeBook computer. Make sure the LifeBook is turned off before beginning this disassembly procedure.

1. Turn the LifeBook over and remove the Battery.

2. Slide out the optical drive.

3. Extract 2 screws from the Hard Disk Drive cover.

4. Lift the cover off.

5. Extract 1 screw from the drive.

6. Slide it to the left to disconnect it, and lift it out.

7. Extract 2 screws from the RAM cover.

8. Lift the cover off.

9. Press out on the locking clips to release the RAM and lift it out.

10. Extract 17 lower case screws.

11. Turn the LifeBook over, open it slightly and stand it on its front.

12. Use a plastic screwdriver to release 1 clip behind each of the 2 hinges.

13. Open the LifeBook and lay it flat.

14. Pry up the Status/Application panel cover with a plastic screwdriver.

15. Disconnect the speaker cable.

16. Lift up the keyboard and slide it back.

17. Disconnect its cable.

18. Extract 4 screws from the metal shield.

19. Lift the shield out.

20. Disconnect the 2 antenna cables from the WLAN card.

21. Disconnect the Display cable from the system board.

22. Extract 2 screws from each of the 2 hinges.

23. Lift the display off.

24. Extract 1 screw from the status LCD bracket.

25. Disconnect the LCD’s cable.

26. Slide the LCD and bracket out.

27. Disconnect the application panel cable.

28. Turn the assembly over and release the tabs securing panel.

29. Turn the assembly back over and lift the panel off.

30. Extract one screw securing the upper case.

31. Disconnect the GlidePoint cable.

32. Lift the upper case off.

33. Turn it over and extract 5 screws securing the GlidePoint assembly.

34. Disconnect the cable from the sensor board.

35. Lift the assembly and buttons out.

36. Retrieve the lower case and disconnect the USB PCB cable from the system board.

37. Lift the PCB out.

38. Extract 2 hex screws from the external VGA connector.

39. Extract 1 screw from the RJ11 bracket.

40. Lift the bracket off.

41. Lift the system board out of the lower case.

42. Extract 2 screws from the modem.

43. Lift it off the system board.

44. Extract 3 screws from the disk drive daughter board.

45. Lift it off the system board.

46. Press out on the locking clip to release the WLAN card and lift it out.

47. Extract 2 screws from the memory card slot.

48. Turn it over, disconnect its cable and lift it out.

49. Disconnect the Bluetooth PCB cable from the system board.

50. Disconnect its antenna cable and lift the PCB out.

51. Remove the Bluetooth PCB holder from the cooling assembly.

52. Extract 1 screw from the Bluetooth antenna PCB.

53. Lift it and the antenna cable out.

54. Turn the system board over and extract the 4 screws securing the PCMCIA slot.

55. Turn the system board back over and lift the assembly off.

56. Extract 1 screw from the TPM PCB.

57. Lift the PCB off the system board.

58. Extract 2 screws from the fan.

59. Disconnect its cable and lift it out.

60. Extract 3 screws from the heat sink.

61. Lift the heat sink out.

62. Retrieve the display and remove 5 screw covers from its front.

63. Extract the 5 screws underneath.

64. Pry around the perimeter of the display to release the front cover from the rear.

65. Lift the front cover off.

66. Extract 2 screws from the display latch.

67. Lift the latch out.

68. Extract 2 screws from the lower corners of the LCD.

69. Lift the inverter up and disconnect the backlight cable from it.

70. Tilt the LCD up.

71. Remove the tape from the LCD connector.

72. Disconnect the LCD cable and set the LCD aside.

73. Disconnect the power cable from the inverter.

74. Lift the cable bundle out.

75. Disconnect the antenna cables from the 2 antenna PCBs.

76. Extract 1 screw from each antenna PCB.

77. Lift each 1 and its metal spacer out.

78. Extract 1 screw from each of the 2 hinges.

79. Lift each one out.
