BRIEF ABOUT THE CONCEPTS/MODELS INTRODUCED IN THE STUDY
Process lead time
A lead time is the latency between the initiation and execution of a process. For example, the lead time between the placement of an order and delivery of a new car from a manufacturer may be anywhere from 2 weeks to 6 months. In industry, lead time reduction is an important part of lean manufacturing. In production planning, lead time is very important. Suppose, a product is made from material B and material C. Material B is made from material C. It means, if there is delay in producing or sourcing material C, there will be delay in getting material B. So, there will be delay in the production of product A. Customer will not get delivery in time. So, deadline is fixed …show more content…
A. Prasad aim was to design and manufacture in India, a range of tough affordable easy to operate Materials Handling Equipment. His goal was to bring Material Handling Equipment’s within the reach of the smallest industry or business. The company now have around 2000 valued customers, using over 10,000 Puma Lift Truck products. The company has dealer’s network around 19 places across India for providing the service to its customers. Puma Lift trucks Follow’s three basic tenets, they are:

Goods Lifts is a machine used for raising and lowering goods by means of a cable. The lift medium is a wire rope, wrapped around a drum or load chain, raised by a pulley with a special profile to engage the chain. With a lifting capacity of 1-5 tons and a maximum lifting height of up to 10 storeys, the goods lift application is most suited factories, warehouses, hotels or shop warehouses.

It consists in taking and collecting articles in a specified quantity before shipment to satisfy customers' orders. It is a basic warehousing process and has an important influence on supply chain's productivity. PLANT - 2
• Stackers
A stacker is a large machine used in bulk material handling. The stacker moves on a rail track, enabling it to move around the stockyard as required. For this purpose, traction motors powered by direct current (DC) are connected by gears. For manual control, all the controls are in a controller's cabin above the boom conveyor or boom. There are mainly three types of stackers produced by the company namely manual, Semi electric and electric stackers.

• Tow Tractor
Tow tractors are materials handling vehicles commonly used to transport pallets of goods or raw materials in warehouses; they are also used in airports for transporting baggage and cargo, and to pull-out aircraft in preparation for departure. Tow tractors can tow multiple trailers at the same time, forming a train.
