ASSIGNMENT LM1 MARKETING AND SOCIETY

The forces of marketing do have an impact on our quality of life, this is a big decision maker as to the good and services that we buy. I have seen over the years, how marketing concept have had a big impact on how we make vital decisions on the purchasing of goods and services. As a consumer I am more into quality than prices, customer satisfaction and customer retention. The era has change over the years as to how we consumers make our decision, thanks to the marketing concepts. Before we make a purchase we take into consideration all the attributes that comes with the product. Some of those attributes are the quality of the product, price, the time or season of purchase, and even the perks that comes with the product for example, an extended warranty. Technology also plays a vital role in the decision making process. We have the opportunity to look for bargain, read customers review on different products and shop from the comfort of our home. We can even determine the date and time of delivery. Consumers are always looking for a variety and our feed backs are very important. Organization continuous response to consumers feed back, will give the opportunity to build a relationship so we as consumers can speak and be loyal to the brand.
All these company effort contributes to customer satisfaction and retention hence profit or other long term success for the organization. Bottom line a

Kotler defines marketing as ‘the activity, set of institutions, and processes for creating, communicating, delivering and exchanging offerings that have value for customers, clients, partners and society at large’ (Kotler, Adam, Denzie, Armstrong 2007 pg 7). This being the most current definition best reflects marketing in today’s environment.
